  1. Saw a black 4th gen 05/06 sedan in brooklyn today on 4th avenue. Noticed hids, lowered and with mudflaps.
  2. Saw a RBP LGT driving down 8th ave by 15th street (Park slope) in Brooklyn last night around 6:30pm. It had an exhaust and sounded very nice..
  3. Cool thanks. Was able to drive it today. Going from park to drive the first time of the day was super harsh. Felt like the car jumped. Does this get better as well as the shifts or is it going to be like that every cold start? Other than that, it's starting to feel great.
  4. Finally after 2 years of owning this car I am now running ClimberDave's valve body. Long story short, Dave is the man. Helped and advised me throughout my rough patches with my transmissions and is great to deal with. I was only able to drive it a couple of miles around my area (lots of traffic and lights) since the install, so no real review from me. I can say that the shifts seems very quick, however, I do get a harsh bump from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 1st - read that this will be corrected after 150 miles after the TCU relearns. Do you guys recommend resetting the TCU or just let it relearn on its own? Hope to take it on the highway this weekend and see how it performs then.

  6. Thanks guys for answering my question earlier. Now I have another question; I was reading up about there being an early 05 5EAT and a later 05 5EAT? If i were to try and put on a later 05 5EAT on my earlier model 05 5EAT, would it be possible/compatible? What is the difference between the two?

  10. So i am still experiencing some weird shifting issues with my 5EAT. In auto mode it seems to be shifting way early at low rpms.. around 35 i am in 5th gear and if i try to accelerate over 40% throttle, it just seems like i hit a rev limit around 3000 or 3100 rpm in 5th. But if i downshift to 4th and do 40% throttle, it would go all the way to 5000 rpm. In manual mode it is fine also. Could it be a grounding issue? I know my passenger side head (close to the manifold) ground wire is not intact or is it just normal 5EAT auto mode? Any way to reset the TCU or could resetting the ECU help?
  11. Saw an Atlantic Blue Pearl LGT with exhaust and bronze wheels driving down Lexington Ave and 54th street in Manhattan around 12:45pm. Had its hazards on and 2 bigger guys in the front.
  12. Yeah it is the stock BPV. Idle is excellent and the tuner says all parameters of the tune and engine are great. I am on the VF40 running 18 psi. I thought most of those who goes to stage 2 keeps the stock BPV? Maybe i will get a video of what happens when driving. It goes to 3000 rpm very quick and i hear the boost buildup, then it is as if it hits a wall and just bogs arouond 3000 and 3100 rpm.
  13. Hey guys, been noticing some weird behavior from my 5EAT with 170k miles lately. In auto mode, it would never go above 3k rpm as much as I press down the pedal feeling like it hits some kind of wall and sometimes when pressing the accelerator down, the rpm would actually drop? In all cases though, the rpm loves to drop back to around 1200-1500 rpm, which makes it hard for me to maintain a good speed on the highway. I am stage 2 and recently had it tuned and the turbo seems to kick in but it isnt fun when it cant pass 3k rpm. Also in manual mode, while reaching the higher rpm (3k rpm or above) it seems very choppy and feels like it struggles. Would resetting the ECU and changing my way of driving help? Maybe i need to drive more aggressively? At lower speeds and low boost (under 2700 rpm) the car feels fine, but once it hits boost and above 3k rpm it just feels weird!
  14. Yeah, it hasn't done this until recently. The weather has been around 20s. I didnt get any CEL yet, but really didnt get a chance to drive it much because it is pretty dangerous. It died a couple of times when i was on an intersection.
  15. Does this cause the car to stall too? I seem to have the same issue. Cold starts it runs rough and when i drive it around and come to a stop, the idle would drop real low (500rpm) and go back up and at times it would stall. After about 15 mins of driving around, and it stalling about 6 or 7 times it would start running fine. Does this seem like symptoms of the intake manifold gaskets needing to be changed?
