  1. 06 wiring is different than 09 so it is not a direct swap.
  2. Other than a slight exhaust leak it sounds great! Great job Frankster! Thanks for the update!
  3. Stock crank and rods are specific to the turbo Buick model. In other words if you use normally aspirated rods and a crank they won't last long. The stock turbo Buick crank has rolled edges on each journal to make it stronger. GN, GNX, Turbo T and T-Types all have the same drive train. However, the GNX has a different center section in the turbo (I think the wheel is ceramic which enables it to spool faster) and a different chip as well as rear supsension and rims. I've had a turbo Buick for 15 years or so and they are awesome in a straight line but IMO the factory stopping power and handling leave alot to be desired. I love my LGT. First Suby I ever owned and it's my favorite car...I like it better than any of the GNs I had or my T-Type I have. The LGT stops well and handles (still a ton of room for improvement on the LGT) much better than the Buick. Frankster is doing a great job. It probably has been covered somewhere in this thread but how heavier is the Buick motor than the Suby motor?
  4. So how is the LGT tranny going to hold up to Turbo Buick power? What is a stock LGT Automatic good for after it has been beefed up? I can't wait til this thing is done. Turbo Buick power with Subaru AWD, Can't get much better than that!
  5. This is soooooooooo cool! I have been following this thread for a while. I have an 86 T-Type and from experience I know this car will run like a bat outta $%#@! My car is almost 3800 pounds with me in it and I ran a low 11 spinning out of the hole. I have a question: I've taken the tranny out of of my car twice. Without going thru all the threads....are you using the LGT tranny or the turbo buick tranny? If you are using the turbo Buick tranny have you already taken measurements on fitting it into the Subaru? Bell housing the turbo buick tranny seems much larger than on the LGT?? Just curious. I know I offered once already but let me know if you need any turbo buick parts. Awesome project!
  6. I found an 07 LGT with Black leather in a yard. The yard wants around $550 for the seats. Don't know if all the door panels are there. Car has 56,000 on it and looks like the seats are excellent. I can see if they will take less than $550 if anyone is interested. PM me if you are interested.
  7. What a project! Great photos and is looks pretty good sitting in there. I have an 86 T-Type running low 11s. I will be curious to see how much custom work you have to do to make this happen. I have had a turbo Buick for the last 15 years. If you need parts I have some sources here in PA. Good Luck and I will be watching this thread!
  8. Subscribed! Lt me know how this works as I have an 86 T-Type and an 05 LGT. Better plan on using the Buick tranny also beacuse I can tell that the LGT trannny will not hold up.
