  1. All has to come from the same car too... if not.. car wont start. Theres a thread on here where you grind down the neutral safety switch in order for the car to behave like a manual. But one of the lights on the dash will stay on. Not to sure on the exact details (it was a lil over my head... and kind of didnt understand it) but getting everything from the same car is prolly the best option.
  2. Everything bolts in to my knowledge except for the cross member. The auto cross member needs to be fabbed up to fit the manual. Nothing a shop cant handle.
  3. A guy on here has done it... and had a shop do everything. Said it was around 10k for everything. But that was with buying a brand new STI transmission to. So Im sure if you could find parts used for a lot cheaper.. it would cost a lot less. Ive put together a list of everything that I think would need to be done. And I calculated it around 7500-8k in parts and labor. But just guessitmated on the labor.
  4. Does the waitlist mean that you are waiting for a VB to come ready so you wont have any down time when installing it? Or if someone was to send in there stock VB for this... would it be done immediately and then sent back?
  5. I will hopefully start purchasing stuff for my 5EAT to 6 Speed conversion here soon and trying to get a good list of things started for it. I will prolly be calling the guys at a local shop to do the swap after hearing nothing but good things from another local guy on here who had the same thing done to his wagon. My questions are.. 1. For the Pedal assembly.. could I use the pedal assembly from the 5 speed Legacy.. or would I need to use the assembly from the STI or Spec B? Spec B would be alot harder to find I would think. 2. When I go to buy the 5mt gauge cluster, 5mt ecu, ignition switch with key and key fob, & key fob antenna... I know it all has to be from the same same car.. but does it need to be from the 5 Speed or does it need to be from the STI... or does it matter? Thanks!
  6. A couple questions... I found a setup that includes 05 STI pedal Assembly and shifter linkage. Would both of these fit my 07 LGT or can I only use Spec B parts? I know some people have used the front auto driveshaft from the 2.5i... but would the front auto driveshaft from the LGT work too? Not sure if theres a difference. Would I be able to use the rear 05 STI driveshaft or would I need to use the Spec B driveshaft? The driveshaft is included in the setup Im looking at. And last from not least... would the crossmember from the 05 STI work or would I still need to get the 5MT crossmember and modify it. Im slowly remembering why I chose not to do this back in the day (6 months ago lol). I'm getting confused with all this info. But if you could help out...Id be indebted to you.
  7. I only have about 1100 into it.... which is crazy cause it feels like I havent even bought anything for it. Still trying to figure out what I wanna do with the car. Go all out... do a few things and leave it... or just keep it stock.
  8. Yeah I was asking cause I found one on ebay for cheap and was curious if it would fit. Any ideas on where I could find a 5 speed from a LGT for sale?
  9. Vf46 is the turbo that comes in the car....not sure what canbus is... I think the most I've seen mpg wise was 18 city but got 27 mpg highway once...haven't seen that again though...most of my driving is city with the occassional highway trip thrown in. I really like the Si drive...u can really feel the difference between the 2 modes... I think the seat mounting positions r different...as in u can't put 07 seats in a 05/06 and vice versa...but don't ur need to know that lol.. That's bout all I got lol
  10. I have a few more questions.... 1. Does the transmission out of the nonturbo legacy fit the GT? 2. If I was to do the 06 STI Swap..would I need to get the manual ECU/Cluster etc from the manual LGT or would I be able to ground the pin in the ECU like normal? How would this work? 3. Where can I source a MT for the car? Ive tried ebay but all Ive found is the tranny for nonturbo.
  11. I have a question.... I have the 07 LGT Auto (5EAT) and would be be swapping everything over. Would I need the ECU, Cluster, key fob, antenna from the manual LGT for this all to work with the 06 STI tranny? I know if I was going with the 5sp from the LGT that I could ground a pin in the ECU to make it act like it was in Neutral but would need the ECU, Cluster, key fob and antenna from a manual LGT in order to not have a cel. I was curious if I should get the ECU etc from the Manual LGT or if somehow the STI ECU was needed? Hope you know what Im trying to ask lol.

  13. I think it depends on which 6 Speed your talking about? The Spec B or the STI 6 speed? I think the parts list is on page 1 of this....
