  1. 2005 (MY06) BP9 Outback 2.5i Safety Pack 4EAT prefacelift (Australian), Pearl White, 277,000kms. 2008 (MY08) Outback 2.5i Luxury Pack, 5 sp auto, Black. Planning on full Killer B sump, baffles and pickups if i can find clear info on compatibility. (all that seems focused on the turbos) Australia got the 3.0R but not the XT Turbo models in the outback, we did get the XT in the forester though.
  2. that sounds like a good product, what's it's name and commmercial name? I must find out if available in Australia. Seconded. a reference number would be splended. i.e. r4a A565 etc.
  3. I have some sad news to report. today I sold my first Gen. was not planning on it but a friend offered me the magic number and i had to say yes.
  4. Damn, that looks clean, mine's been picking up little dings all over the joint.
  5. Picked up a set of JDM standard bar front fog lights (Yellow) for $40 last tuesday they're in good nick too so it seems i'll be playing around with switches and the looms soon. I'll upload a pic a bit later on. [watch this space]
  6. all I can say is pay very close attention to the car you are pulling the dash out of and take pics where needed. write down quantities of bolts and tools needed. also bag and tag the tricky nuts and bolts and be careful with the brittle trim bits & clips that lurk where one would think they dont. if you are getting it from a self serve wrecker you should be able to get all the HVAC ducting for nothing as part of the dash:icon_chee and replace all the vent flap foams if they are crumbling to save yourself time in the long run. I've had to go surfing under the dash and i'm still losing sleep from it(hurt my back).
  7. I've had something similair albeit, in a '04 TL Magna (aka Mitsubishi Verada/Diamante) which had had a front end collision and was not repaired properly. I'd suggest redoing the Front end bushes on anyhting you have'nt done yet and check really closely those mating surfaces. in the end on the Magna it was a slight indentation and warp on the lower A-Arm that was the real issue with a split bush from the accident that hadn't been looked at let alone fixed. so a trip to a friend's wrecking yard and $15 in Bushes and a bit of time later it was fixed. hope this might help you in your quest for smooth operation.
  8. borrowed a trade plate from a friend, dug out the old girl and took for a half hour drive. lamentably it was only a suburban tootle but such is life. found some more issues with it when I washed it later though.... all the rubber tubes or boots that cover the door harness seem to have perished and i'll need to get new ones. also did an electrics test. seems as though a bulb has blown whilst the vehicles has been sitting idle. more parts fro when i make a call to my preferred dealer again i guess.
  9. think i've fixed the issues with photobucket. will trawl back through the thread and then edit my posts to include @monkeyposeur: eh-oh, Turbo leak is certainly not fun. mnstrmech: that door is just slightly lighter than the rest of the car isn't it.
  10. I'll take a few pics of them side by side to illustrate the difference tomorrow arvo when I get home. The Heritage model here in Australia is top of the line. Leather, sunroof heated seats and foglights if those boxes are ticked sadly it was discontinued over here after the second Generation. I have a GX AWD Rallye Auto (I'm ashamed to admit) which was a base model with electric everything, Sunroof and spoiler. Unfortunately mine did not get the foglights from factory. Still has the stock head unit and sound system. the sunroof is cracking though. Anyone got tips on doing the sunroof cassette replacement? I have to say though there is only a handful of parts I can't get new which is a good thing for a 19 year old car. I might also add the Rallye model was a special edition and a "little brother" model to the RS/GT and also signaled the end of the line for First Gen Production. My model is a 1993.
  11. Went to a local self serve wreckers and to my suprise I found a '92 Liberty Heritage sedan sitting there which was relatively untouched. As a result I got some standard bar fog lights and harness and switch. May have to go back to the same car and get the rest of the harness that I could not access. I'll edit this post when I'm at home and upload a pic of what I mean. I also got me a nice condition leather centre console lid that was virtually untouched. I travelled to another yard owned by the same people hoping to find some more spares but those cars were stoves I for starters and stripped for all useful parts.
  12. Bought a new door lock for the right hand front. After having previously been rebuilt twice by a lock smith and had no lasting effect. the old girl has been off of the road for over 9 months now... thinking of cleaning her up and flogging her up to get a GT86 GT (base model over here) she needs a few things though.... 1) Engine Rebuild 2) Front Input Shaft Seal 3) bit of Panel trickery.... and replace the bar. Met a 380's rear end a few weeks before she was due to come off the road. so that increased costs etc... Input shaft seal I'll do myself along with the Engine Rebuild (barring the Machining and port polishing on the heads) still trying to find a good place for that In Adelaide.
