Hi all,
Here it is my lifted 2009 Legacy Gt spec B. Please read the thread before asking questions.
Front Suspension:
Stock Bilstein strut
Rallitek raised springs (higher spring rate)
Whiteline camber adjustable upper strut mount
Pros: Stiffer ride better handling and more clearance.
Cons: The spec B. spring seats are a different height than the stock Legacy GT spring seats. So these springs aren't really designed for the struts which is why I ended up with about 3" lift up front. Also the Whiteline upper strut mounts weren't a direct fit either. I had to put a spacer washer on top of the strut post to prevent the bearing from binding when everything was tightened down. When I hit a large bump and the suspension compresses it has the capability of rebounding so hard the strut extends fully and hits the stop.... BANG. It sounds horrible, but happens rather infrequently, and hasn't caused any leaks yet.
Rear suspension:
Stock Bilstein strut
Rallitek raised springs (higher spring rate)
New stock upper mounts
Two 1/2" spacers stacked between the strut mount and the chassis
Pros: Significantly less over steer than stock and no more saggy butt. The rears fit much better than the fronts. I'm not aware of any differences in the spring seats on these struts. Because of this I don't have the problem where the strut tops out on the rebound.
Cons: The rear control arm touches my exhaust because it extends so far down, but camber isn't really an issue.
Please note: I bought this car to drive and enjoy. It's not a garage queen it's a tool.. and I use it.
Wheels:
Summer:
Powder coated stock spec B. alloys dark bronze metallic
Michelin Pilot Super Sports 225/50/18 ET 35
20mm spacers front and rear
Not rolled or pulled, yes they rub in the front when I turn the wheel more that 180 degrees and when they dip into the fender in the rear they rub.
Winter:
Bronze Method Rally Wheels
Nokian Hakkapeliitta 8 215/50/17 ET 35
No rubbing.
By now you're probably wondering what I tow..
Towing:
All suspension modifications started with starting a small lawn mowing service to kill some time and get that side hustle.
Things I've towed:
Max weight ~2500 lbs (not often or with pleasure)
5x10 wood deck Tractor Supply trailer ~1000lbs as equipped
Jetski
Snowmobile
Dirtbike
Now I realize its not a truck, so I bought a TDI Jetta... which is much more of a truck and my daily beater / tow rig.
Other mods:
FMS catback
Megan 3" Catless DP

That's all for now.. thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed my thread.
