  1. As long as you are using something rated for a bar or so of vacuum you aren't going to see issues with vacuum lines collapsing unless you are drawing vacuum from the inlet pipe no matter how much boost you are making. manifold only goes into vacuum when off throttle. And on the opposite side, under pressure even amazon sourced silicone vacuum lines hold up at least to 28ish lbs of boost.
  2. Omg I forgot about that, its hilarious how the epa is attacking tuners instead of cruise ship company's and etc... well here's proof from the first key turn with the link if you need more reasons to think about it. https://www.instagram.com/tv/CmCx95UAyRM/?igsh=MTUzejVzcWl4YXVweA==
  3. Well technically you can use any 5v signal input (like tgv or air pump etc) and an access port to feed a signal from something like a Ballenger afr500 wideband sensor into the stock setup, that's how I had done it for years, but yeah it's getting hard to resist the temptation of a standalone nowadays. I would first check your stock ecu part number and compare it against the link and see if its even worth thinking about before you get too excited
  4. @BoozeRS05 haha yeah, next to needing an outlet car to modify instead of my mr2 or lexus rc that's one of the main goals. @KZJonny yes the factory gauges work just fine, the g4x is canbus so it can access that stuff, it can even trigger my cel with its own errors. That being said, in trying to get the pre-turbo o2 sensor to feed into the ecu as well as my wideband we did manage to try some settings that made the fuel gauge and temp gauge not work so we gave up on trying to get that to work. Temp and fuel is much more important to me than an almost useless narrow band o2 sensor haha
  5. so firstly, don't take any of this as gospel since I've changed so much stuff over the years on this car that i cant remember everything I've even done to it. Secondly, i had already swapped the ecu, biu, cluster, and modified an entire chassis, dash, and engine harness from an 07 Spec-B into the car (long story but i had a bunch of corrosion in the harness and it wiped out the stock stuff) With that said, after comparing the entire pinout of the ecu i had to the wrxlink v11 plug-in ecu and the go ahead from my tuner (getadomtune has been my tuner since day 1 so I wasn't confirming it just with a random tuner) i decided it was worth a shot over the accessport, especially since i did the standalone around the time that cobb disabled the functionality to deal with car that had deleted tumbler valves and whatnot. the ecu has been great in the car though, some weirdness with the preturbo o2 sensor but considering it was all over the air tuning with me not having access to a dyno and i drove the car almost 2000 miles from a legit blizzard to the heat of arizona and got 26mpg and had zero problems with the electronics id say it worked great
  6. Mainly curious if anyone's still here and if there is anyone in the tucson area that can introduce me to any part of the car scene haha. I don't know how to find car friends haha. on the car i guess if none of the old guard is still here, the basics i guess. i can go into more detail if anyone cares. link g4x ecu, built motor, pretty much all the suspension goodies, terrible turbo that makes fun noises at uselessly high rpm's and last year blew a cylinder wall out when i lost boost control, 295's at all 4 corners on cheap xxr's, hilarious stereo system i built for it
  7. Just on a base map but running fine with the setup I built. Mr2 really needed attention so it's just getting me around right now. I've been wanting to put together more of the videos from the build but just haven't had the timehttp://cloud.tapatalk.com/s/60e35de592705/20210705_131838_1_960x540.mp4 Sent from my SM-G991U using Tapatalk
  8. Haha yeah its ridiculous but so is the whole stupid car haha
  9. Oh yeah I also picked up two nice cree led 5.6 inch motorcycle headlights and mounted them in the factory fog light holes, flippin amazing output, far better than the factory ever have been and I even have a high beam in my fog lights haha Sent from my VS988 using Tapatalk
  10. Well I have not really been up to anything, had an scare happen last week when the turbo seals gave out but just got a new chra for the vf52. About time to step up to a proper sized turbo soon but wasnt ready for it atm. Outside of that, shes in full winter/outback mode and just enjoying the nice (read: cold af, but finally snowy) winter we are having here in northern wyoming this year Sent from my VS988 using Tapatalk
  11. I should add, im not living in the same place anymore so i dont have a shop below my house anymore so shit will not be happening at a crazy pace anymore, took me a few weeks to find all the time to do everything, have basically everything done now, just need to get the new hood painted sometime. did the rear LCA's and the upper bushings back there, and did the front ALK and bushings. tightened up the car so much and she is so much more behaved now. Also, holy shit i cant say it enough, there is nothing i have done to my car that has made a more noticeable improvement across the board than doing whiteline's street Anti lift caster kit. the tires have been changed since this picture was taken. dont reqally have any of the front stuff cuz its boring to look at
  12. broke my fancy headlight, broke the mounting tab on the radiator, popped the ac condenser, bent up the radiator support and fucked up the hood a bit. Luckily USAA took pretty good care of me, so i got a koyo radiator, new supports, a new condenser, a new headlight (just a tyc because i was going to cut it anyways), and a new hood, and also picked up some suspension goodies i've been waiting forever to have the extra money to do
  13. good info xtea, i haven't really had much chance to do any real testing on it but ill get some numbers sometime with different setups. And haha yeah a couple updates from the last couple months. this happened alittle over a month ago so that was pretty awesome
