  1. I remember you first getting this car, it has come a long way. Looks great! I got a lot of the 6 speed swap done and its a lot of work. Finding a first Gen auto driveshaft was tough, but only because I needed one. There were 4 at the junkyard, all 5spds... never happens. Anyways after going through my lol contacts, I found one from another turbo legacy owner locally. Another thing was the 6 speed shift rod(lower) was too long, and some transmission tunnel bracing that you bolt the lower shifter bushing into was in the way. I drilled a hole large enough for the shifter rod to stick out past the back of the bushing into the tunnel bracing. Also got the energy suspension bushings in the rear lower control arms, machine shop almost gave up on the one piece but they finally got them in. After getting it done, I realized it would have been easier to cut the one piece bushings in half and would have been able to do it myself. I also painted the intake after finding an intake gasket, fuel injector leak and already having to take the intake off. I'm going to try using my master clutch cylinder(02wrx) with the STI slave. Using the STI master will require some fabrication of a mounting bracket to hold the hard line to the firewall. It came with a stainless steel clutch line so I will install it eventually. Also, replaced all the pink STI stainless brake lines with the Goodridge SS lines than came with my purchase. Also, getting the perrin adj sway bar to fit took some hammering/cutting/ruining of my spare tire well. Just happen to be where my battery was mounted also so that was relocated. Motor was running great, more low end torque than the ej20g, still need to configure the megasquirt before I run more that 10psi. Big turbo was laggy but it was super rich still. Still another weekend of work left. Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk
  2. Long time no reply. I am bringing my 93 legacy back from the dead with a 05 STI 6 speed, brembo swap. I bought the swap from a friend who was making 450whp before a cylinder wall let go. I plan on running 325 tops. But first, my old ej20g burned/broke a valve due to a bad ecu leaning a cylinder out. Now I have built a megasquirt ms3x efi and wired it in with a new harness. The motor is a low mileage jdm ej205 non avcs with a 05 wrx intake, ported tgv's, perrin fuel rails, injector dynamics 1000cc injectors, grimspeed ported headers/crossover/uppipe with tial 44mm EWG, bloush 2.5GT ball bearing turbo and Tial BOV. I will be getting the motor running and driving with the 5 speed first. Then buying some new brembo friendly wheels and swapping in the 6 speed/r180, MAP DCCD, brembos, 1000hp rear axles. 3. Very nice figures there! Is that crank HP? What fuel, Injectors, ecu, turbo and compression are you running there? I'm about drop some 850cc injectors in and run 19-20psi on my stock block ej20g. The closest awd dyno is a couple hours away so all I can do is road tune it. Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk
  4. Yeah cut it out. The only thing that plate does is hold the rubber boot in place.
  5. Yes it is different. I was able to make a leather wrx shift boot work.
  6. Did a timing belt on my ej20g. Idler bearings, oil and water pump looked better than the low mileage spares I had. Probably didn't have to change the belt but you never know how old the parts on the JDM motors are. I got my spare ej20g on the stand and about to tear it down. Earliest 20g's are said to have forged internals as well as lower compression. I've already confirmed the lower compression.
  7. KSport coilovers just came back from a rebuild from Feal suspensions. They revalved and replaced the rusted shaft. Front lower control arm bushings replaced with whiteline and energy so the improvement should be massive since the old bushes were shot. Also, began building a tuned port sub box for a single 10" image dynamics. It will be firing through the rear armrest.
  8. Nice find, I got more $$ than that into mine without the 6 spd, brembo swap.
  9. I got kart boy rear end links, superpro lower control arm bushings, energy suspension rear trailing arm bushings and a new 5 channel amp. The rear endlinks feel great with quicker turn-in and improved stability through our round-abouts. I'll be busy this weekend installing bushings. I have a 10" image dynamics subwoofer that I'll eventually be building a tuned ported enclosure for. Im planning on having the square port and sub to blow through the rear armrest.
  10. Just drove my leggy 2300 miles from Arizona to Oregon to socal and back to Arizona. 17 hours straight ain't so bad in an AMG recaro seat. Rode in my buddies 550whp 98 outback sti swap. Something special about roasting all 4 235 tires up to 70mph that makes me want a 6speed swap. This car was violently fast! Gotta love a sleeper Subaru.
  11. Finally, back to big turbo fun. 60mm precision turbo in a .48ar really hits hard @4k rpms and should last longer. Only 12psi until I get some datalogging in but its much faster than the stock turbo @18psi. I will be beyond the 550cc injectors at about 16psi. The ej20g's 440cc is the largest injector that can be used on a factory ej22t, think someone asked earlier. I traded someone my 440's for this purpose. http://i1065.photobucket.com/albums/u386/onefastlt/Mobile%20Uploads/CAM00754_zps6d0fgrar.jpg
  12. CX racing turbo lost its ceramic ball bearing a couple weeks ago. Starved it of oil after two 50-130mph pulls in a row. Sure my oil restiction was slightly too small, but specs were not included or available online. I had to contact customer service only to find out their rebuild kit does not include a ball bearing and compressor wheels are unavailable for purchase. So despite the good/mixed reviews on their turbo's, they don't have parts for replacement. So, I Picked up a used precision t60 .48ar turbo, the thrust bearing was shot. So I rebuilt, primed, painted it with VHT flameproof ceramic coating, did all the baking in an old bbq. On my last 600° bake, some old grease at the bottom ignited and I just let it burn out. Surprisingly the black soot cleaned right off the red compressor housing and is so far flameproof. Hopefully, the paint holds up to the temps advertised. http://i1065.photobucket.com/albums/u386/onefastlt/Mobile%20Uploads/CAM00747_zpsuzinmale.jpg http://i1065.photobucket.com/albums/u386/onefastlt/Mobile%20Uploads/CAM00748_zpsokqkapxz.jpg Also, got some rear EBC rotors and pads that go on before the turbo. I warped some AutoZone rotors with napa pads after a spirited drive up my favorite mountain pass. http://i1065.photobucket.com/albums/u386/onefastlt/Mobile%20Uploads/CAM00741_zpsgky9haww.jpg
  13. I'd be looking for an LS motor/t56 6speed swap for it. I Went to the Local nasioc meet, couple Legacy's also showed up. They really enjoy their group photoshoots.
  14. Got my 3" downpipe finished and mated with the catback. It was sounding like a GT30r equipped racecar being extremely loud, popping and banging with each shift via the external wastegate. Now it's so quiet it could pass as stock. What's really surprising is my exhaust and turbo are quieter than with the stock turbo! I suppose the efficiency, turbine size of the t3 turbo makes for less obstruction. My power band is wider but shifted up like a two stroke. Eg: vf10 was peaking between 3k-5000 rpms whereas the gt30 peak power is from 4-7200. Only running the same 15psi but it feels like it's about 30whp gain and it gets to redline really quick. Can't wait to dial in 20psi with some tuning. Also have to weld an aluminum nipple pre-intercooler so I can run boost controller in dual port wastegate control. Should help my spool also, but I plan on building a high revving closed deck ej20g with built 205heads, STI crank and forged parts.
