  1. Boost threshold was really similar to the previous VF-54/TD05-18G hybrid. We capped torque at 50kgm and dipped it a touch at redline.
  2. When I owned it I wasn't exactly gentle. A lots of miles were spent on mountain roads chasing fahr_side's built WRX. Though the car was never tracked, I burned through about 60l of meth, two sets of RE-11As, two sets of brake rotors, 4 sets of Project Mu high-temp pads and ripped 3 sets of strengthened front lower control arm bushings. Launching uphill WOT with 4 passengers and a load of camping or windsurfing gear was a regular occurrence. A lot of people broke their tranny's due to the slow and soft OEM shift settings. I bought a broken one and re-built it as a spare, but never needed it. I later sold it to someone who DID break their transmission. My STG2 STi just can't compare, nice as it is.
  3. Now that you have the transmission we all wanted in the car, you'll need some more torque to send through it.
  4. That STi transmission takes a long time to warm up on a cold day. Great work!
  5. This should be stickied. Lots of good data in a single post.
  6. The next journey is starting over here. http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/replacement-lgt-wagon-17-sti-256939.html
  7. I plan to shoot before I buy. But when I look at the S&W M&P, there are 64 models. I'm sure personal preference plays a if role, but in general what types of options do you recommend? Full size, thumb safety ( is that a manual safety?), striker action, 45 cal? And other brands I should look at? The idea is to learn to shoot well. In term of quality: guns are tools, I like and buy nice quality tools.
  8. Let's suppose I lived in one of the most liberal states in the country with regards to gun laws. Let's say I''ve owned shotguns and rifles, but never a pistol. If I was looking for a first handgun to spend a lot of time with at the range, and maybe put in the glove box on occasion, but not really own for concealed carry, what would that be? There seem to be a dizzying array of options. For reference, the couple times I shot a pistol at the range, my scores were better with the M1911 type than the M9 or glock.
  9. In case you missed the build thread, what Fahr_side and I were able to get out of a Dynapack in about 30+ degrees centigrade of ambient temps. 50.5kg/m of torque and 403whp.
  10. Haha...what you don't know will never hurt. Blend in traffic my a$$...I launched that car with 4 people and a couple hundred pounds of luggage in the back up more than one ramp. Didn't even burp. I'm going to own an STi that's slower than that car.
  11. Will do. This forum has always had a great vibe.
  12. So the car ended up with a good new home, even if the new owner will baby it a bit too much. I just put a deposit on a '17 STi. Once broken in, I'll have Fahr_side give me a STG 1 tune to tide me over and fix the crappy throttle mapping. If only they had an LGT wagon or even a hatch.....
  13. Ah, it happens. I really enjoyed the car. All the build from STG 1 to now we're interesting and the car was a joy to drive. Fahr_side has given me the modding bug, so I think I'll end up modding my next car
  14. Timeframe? If the car is not sold in two weeks. Also, tuner will provide a base map.
  15. Ok, plans change. I need to move countries and sell my Legacy. The local market is not into highly modded cars and I may need to take the car back to stock. Would anyone be interested in a well developed and tested kit of my mods? - Custom SS 4 into 1 header with TiAL 45mm EWG - 200 cell metal substrate cat, 70mm dump pipe to stock mid-pipe flange - EWG plumbed back into dump pipe - EFR7163 turbo with .85 a/r v-band - FMIC and all piping (powder coated black), brackets, hose clamps and silicon hoses (black) - Blitz intake with carbon snorkus - Remote oil filter kit (turbo occupies original oil filter location) - Oil cooler with brackets to locate in stock TMIC location (Canadians might be interested in the tranny cooler which also locates at the stock TMIC location. - High quality braided lines for turbo with heat shields included. - Adapter to attach stock oil pan to turbo. Basically everything you need to plug and play would be included. Expect 350-360whp with meth on stock internals and cams, over 400 with built engine and STi cams. Spools like my 18g. Very responsive. Optional: - snow meth kit with custom 30l alu in-trunk meth tank with baffles and
