  1. Could you please help me finding banjo filter replacement for LGT 2003 JDM 2.0 turbo? I found 15194AA110 on first page but is it same for JDM ? can I buy only filter without bolt somewhere? Just not to pay 20$ in just a plastic filter that is 1$ worth.
  2. It was used, I have imported it from Japan in April 2013, just a few months ago. for 4 months it worked and served fine and then the problems began. millage was 130 000 km, I drove 4500km. serve as recommended, Motul 5-40, it had no other problems, it was a 4-B grade car on Japanese car auction. Car had clear title, no accident. Just I was not lucky this time
  3. Thanks, after installing new chra I drove easily at firts for about 5 km (idled 30-40 min before driving) and after that tried higher rpm without full boost (boost up to 0.4-0.5 bar) and then I heard noice. Now the engine needs to be disassembled and some special job to be done (dont know enough terminology in English to describe that). After that I have to drive easy for 1000 Km. This car brought so much trouble and expense to me
  4. Drive easily for NMT 5-10 drive cycles, but NMT 100miles. <-- could you please describe more details? whats NMT? Oil pipes were cleaned, pump also but nothing was replaced. banjos were removed. turbo was primed with oil and 30 sec cranking the motor without starting it (fuel line was cut). after that engine was started and idled for 30 minutes. Then I drove slowly 5 km and then tried higher revs about 4000rpm and then I noticed knocking in engine, i drove about 2 km more and then stopped the car near local subaru specialists boxes.
  5. I have changed the chra with a new Kinugawa chra, the car worked fine and then I heard some knocking from engine (( now the engine is also damaged... w t f. are these BP5 models so weak ? or they have some specific problem? the oil preasure was tested and it was fine (6 bar on right avcs,)
  6. thanks, will try that before starting. and thats all ? after starting I can use the car as usually and drive with full boost ?
  7. I just purchased another vf38 chra from kinugawa, hope it goes fine and will write about it after using it some time. Just nobody tells me if there is any recommendation for using a newly installed chra, should I avoid high RPMs?
  8. Does changing a chra need special care while starting the car with a new chra installed? Do I need to avoid high rpm? Any recommendations?
  9. any special process needed? Oil pipes were connected as usually so oil should go through the pipes in just seconds under pressure. If I did not do something please advise what I have missed. The chra worked fine for 20 minutes parked and engine started, then I drove about max 5 km and heard the noice only after that.
  10. I have installed Kinugawa chra and after just several minutes I head a noise from turbine and the chra appeared to be damaged. Is there anything that can ruin the chra so fast? can it be banjo filters? I have removed 1 but it was not too dirty. Any other known problems on this car? I think there may be some problem with oil pressure.
  11. Hi, I have investigated my case, the turbo appeared to be too much damaged and needs a new CHRA. Has anyone tried from this seller on ebay? http://www.ebay.com/itm/VF38-VF40-Subaru-RHF5H-CHRA-Cartridge-Turbocharger-Turbo-/181191776653 They have a 100% reviews (28 total). This is E&E Turbo company. They also have this web-site : http://www.worldturbocharger.com/ Your help would be appreciated as I'm going to order the CHRA next week.
  12. Today I was driving fast for several minutes, wanted to test with forester 2001 y. (he was faster a bit, both stock) and after that the strange noise is gone and some other kind of a noise is heard that is not dependent with boost, at any rpm, even when pushing the gas pedal very nice it sounds like something coming from down, propably pipes, just like something is not screwed well, but the sound is off when I take of the foot from gas. Except that I noticed a little leakage of oil on turbo to TMIC hose, and the smoke was coming from down, seems the oil has leaked on hot pipe.
  13. We have tested on up to 3 par. Thats about 40 psi?. You see it appeared a problem to find a cheap replacement of VF38. I will have to buy chra for 220gbp from kinugawa or 120$ one from china. I will have to hake the pipe off and check the furbo shaft. Thanks. I was jest hopint that it may be not turbo fault as its not cheap for me. Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 4
  14. Thanks for explanation. I wonder about the leakage test, we compressed the air (smoke) from intake side (air filter) and there was no leakage, the smoke then was released when we opened the engine oil cup. Did it pass all the above mentioned hoses? I will check for the shaft play also by next weekend. In case if it is a shaft problem, can it be the reason for this sound? And can this problem be fixed by changing the shaft wheel? or I should change the whole CHRA in that case to insure the shaft balance? I do not have experience in repairing turbo and I know that the shaft balance is very important, but some say the CHRA must be balanced if I replace the shaft wheel only.
  15. Could you please tell me what's BPV and TMIC ? I'm not yet familiar with terminology I have borrowed a boost gauge and boost was 0.8-0.9 bar buy 2400 rpm, and it dropped to about 0.6 on higher rpm-s. How can I check the leakage after the turbo? As I understand I have checked from air intake until turbo. Any other ideas? Does this audio sound like it was in case of a bent "collar" ?
