  1. Have them on all of our cars, Subarus and others. The Fumoto valve just works and makes sense oil changes are a breeze.
  2. I usually do my own repairs, but had a very good experience with K&C auto Service in San Francisco (415) 882-1608 My AC was not putting out cold air, they diagnosed a defective relay and resolved the issue. They could have told me anything, they work on a lot of Subarus and are straight shooters.
  3. I ordered my replacement hose in bulk from boostcontroller.com purchased by the foot, different diameters and they shipped very quickly from East to West coats.
  4. I believe a non functioning high mounted center brake light is a safety issue, in California the CHP will pull you over for a non functioning brake light and issue a ticket.
  5. When is NHTSA going to make Subaru do a safety recall regarding this self destructing wire harness?
  6. I just filed a complaint with NHTSA previously my harness on the passenger side of the lift gate ripped itself apart, now my radio reception stopped, upon investigation I found torn wires on the driver's side of the rear lift gate. Spliced them back together and all is good now. Contact NHTSA when you encounter this wiring nightmare.
  7. Slipped two lengths of wire down through the rubber accordion boot (taped them to a flexible yet stiff picture rail wire and pushed them through) and using butt connectors crimped the 2 individual new wires to bridge the broken wires. To sum up 4 butt connectors and about a foot of replacement wire and my two broken wires are now joined. There is no need to cut the accordion boot. Now my rear lift gate locks remotely and my high mount brake light works. Radio Shack can be a convenient source for butt connectors and light gauge wire.
  8. I also have a 2005 Legacy wagon and the rear hatch will not lock. On inspection I found the wires within the rear rubber accordion boot had torn themselves apart on the passenger side . WTF I have filed a complaint with /www.nhtsa.gov (NHTSA) and suggest others do the same. When the wires tear you also lose your high mount 3rd brake light in addition to not being able to lock and secure the rear hatch.
  9. Greetings!!

Okay, I've got the pics comparing the Nightbreakers and Stock... The night breakers are a bit brighter and whiter.. But I'm sorta underwhelmed. maybe it's because I haven't been driving the Subaru that much. Here's the link for the pics for you to see them yourself. Sorry about the few blurry ones.

  10. A heads up for everyone when you install the Cusco Front Strut bar on the 2005 Legacy GT Wagon. First, separate the silver bar from the blue mounting plates. Then after removing your top nuts from each strut tower, position the blue plate over the exposed bolts. The one on the passenger side is easy to line up. When you find that you can not get the blue plate over the bolts on the driver's side, stop cursing; do not pick up a sledge hammer or crow bar. Believe me I found it maddeningly frustrating when it would not drop over the bolts and into place. Go and get your trusty hydraulic floor jack and slowly lift the front of the car and wheels off the ground; this will permit the strut to drop down. Now with the exposed bolts lower in the frame, you can very easily position the blue plate over the 3 slightly lowered mounting bolts. Lower the car to the ground. Caution: do not lift the car so high that your hood/bonnet hits the ceiling, also do not lift the car so high that you drop the strut out of the tower and position. Use a torque wrench and you are finished. The instructions are in Japanese which I can read, and this method is not discussed even in the Japanese directions. Damn it!
