  1. ############################################ ################## Car is SOLD ################## ############################################ Year, Make and Model: 2008 Legacy GT spec.B Color: Quartz Silver Metallic Miles: 127,992 (driven daily; will go up slightly) Transmission: 6 Speed Manual Title: Clear - no accidents Lien: No liens Location: North Shore, Massachusetts VIN: 4S3BL696583209237 Seller's email address: Asking Price: $7,500 FIRM Background Information Unfortunately, family obligations have pushed me to move forward on the sale of one of the most fun cars I've owned. With a teenager driving soon, my household needs a more practical Subaru that everyone can use. A 6mt spec.B is no car for a beginner driver. Miles will go up slowly, since I'm still driving the car on my 24 mile round-trip commute to work. History The car was purchased new at Heuberger in Colorado w/ the optional "SPT Power Pack" (SPT intake & exhaust), then immediately moved to the Southeast where it stayed until I relocated to the Northeast in 2018. I am the 3rd owner and I purchased the car 7+ years ago ( 9/2013). I spent 2+ years looking for the right used spec.B (stock, un-tuned, un-modded) to be a long-term, fun to drive, daily-driver. I eventually found one that checked my boxes, so I bought it. With the purchase, I "inherited" 3 minor issues from the previous owners: two small dents in the passenger's-side roof rail, a poorly repaired driver's seat bolster & an aging hood protector film that was installed at original purchase (more to come on this later...) Otherwise, the car looked and drove like new; both inside and out. It has been my dd since purchase and treated as such. All engine maintenance has been done at either the dealership or a reputable Subie specialist. Oil changes every 3,750 miles and a steady diet of 93+ octane fuel, which is important to these turbo-charged EJ25-based Subies. The car has been adult-driven under my ownership; I'm in my mid-40s, so basically spirited commutes only. Good Mechanically, the car is in excellent shape. It pulls hard, handles well and shifts smoothly. As I said earlier, the car has been meticulously maintained. Timing belt was done at 105k and recent maintenance includes new intake manifold gaskets and new front axles (left, right), and a driver's side front wheel bearing. I have a TON of records to prove all the maintenance performed. No CELs, so no emissions headaches. Electronically, everything inside and out works. SPT exhaust and intake are a plus; the car sounds great! I sourced a drivers-side OEM spec.B seat-back cover (to repair bolster), which has not been installed but comes with sale. It was NOT easy to get! All manufacturer recalls have been performed, including the Takata airbag recall with sticky-dash replacement (if you don't know what that is, look it up). I also have both sets of keys. Car is ready to drive anywhere, and I have the clean MA title in hand. Not so good The car left the factory 13 years ago. It has normal 13yo daily-driver wear and tear to paint and plastics. The paint cleans up very well, but shows signs of aging. For the last year it has not been stored indoors (but, for 12 years it was!). Also, someone recently hit my rear bumper while parked at a shopping center, with what looks like a trailer hitch; not punctured, but will require reshaping and a QSM re-spray. The suspension bits are getting tired. The endlinks and swaybars need to be replaced to eliminate clunking over bumps; I was considering Whiteline replacement bars and endlinks, since the previous owner had COBB bars on there when I purchased it. The car definitely handles better without OEM swaybars. One TPMS sensor is bad, so the TPMS light stays on. The hood protector did it's job since purchase, but needs removal since it's cracked, yellowed badly. I read/saw it can be removed by a buffing wheel and 3M adhesive remover, but I haven't had the time or energy to try it. Bad Nothing, nada. A few cosmestic issues (listed above), but car is solid. Finally I think that pretty thoroughly sums everything up and is a fair & honest assessment of the car. The pictures I'm posting first are how she presently sits (so I don't break forum rules!), which is un-washed on a rainy, Fall day. I have no shame in doing so, since the car is driven. I'll give it a bath this weekend and post better pics afterward, since the car will clean up nicely. Because it's an unmolested example, I honestly believe this spec.B is collectible since it harkens back to a time when Subaru was performance-minded across its entire lineup. It's an awesome one-off car in a modern world full of bland vehicles. I wanted to give the LegacyGT enthusiasts first dibs before I go elsewhere for sale. I have ordered a boring new Subaru that should arrive in ~3 weeks, so I could trade her in, but it would break my heart to do so. No joy-rides; SERIOUS inquiries only; and if you live outside the area, it's your responsibility to make arrangements for pickup & delivery. Thanks for looking! Email me with any questions, or post them here and I will respond ASAP.
