  1. Now if only DSS would offer upgraded Spec B style axles for use the R180, then we would have our cake and eat it too!
  2. The Spec B came with an R180 rear diff. So the axles, R180 should bolt up. In the next couple of weeks I'm doing this same swap. In my case I have a modified LGT driveshaft so I need to swap out the mounting plate on the front of the R180 with the plate from the R160. If you have the Spec B driveshaft you're good to go as it bolts up. I really wish the DriveShaftShop had upgraded Spec B axle...
  3. That awesome. Looks like all I'll need to swap is the diff (by changing the driveshaft connection plate) and just use Spec B axles. Everything should just bolt out and bolt in.
  4. Hey Groff, when you install the R180 diff did you have to swap our the R160 mounts (the our riggers?). Starting to peace the parts together as my rear diff is starting to make noise. http://www.sebaru.net/images/Swap/Project%20Sebaru%20LRX%20Swap%20187.jpg The part on the left side of the photo.
  5. Sorry for the late response. I was thinking more that the STi axles may be easier to find and bigger than the Spec-B ones. Oh well. Hey Groff, when you installed the R180, what else did you have to change to get it to bolt up (ie the rear diff support correct?)?
  6. ^ I'm heading back to the shop next Friday for post break in tune. I'll get them to have a look. Some food for thought...has anyone looked under the 08 STi to see if the rear wheel width match the LGT? I was at one of the local dealer, poking around underneith and was wonder if we could use the R180 rear end (with cross member of course) with the 08STi axles? The 08STi rear is identical to the LGT (upper and lower control arms).
  7. Well according to my Mech, I have the 5mt NSS installed and my cruise doesn't work (I tried the gliding in neutral and hitting cruise and still nothing). So I'm interested to see if your works.
  8. The cruise turns on but nothing happens when I try to set it. I'll try the Neutral thing tonight to see. Thanks
  9. Just picked my car up on tues with the fresh 6-speed swap. Thanks for your help Mike. This thread and your advise really help me out. FYI: I'm running the 5-speed NSS and the cruise control doesn't work, however I still need to confirm a few other things. IIRC you're running the 6-speed NSS with some modification correct? Does your cruise work?
  10. Right now I have the STi linkage with a Kartboy SS and it appears to work. I'll confirm it in about a week.
  11. FWIW, +/-$250 (+ shipping) Drive Shaft Shop will take an STi driveshaft and you LGT driveshaft and make one that fits as well.
  12. Thanks for the pics man. I though I saw that someone had vacation pic of the "04/05 STi" that you rented? Where would I look for those?
