  1. I just did cobb stage 2 and am happy with that, TBH. I am using this as a commuter car and don't want to break it any more than it already does, lol. Anyway, listen to the folks here as they knows these cars. The tune always has to match the mods or your engine goes pop.
  2. My steering wheel airbag cover is getting really sticky on the sedan. I was wondering what this black stuff that kept getting under my fingernails was. Yup, that. Guess I need to source a new cover. Anyone have to do this? I wonder if it is still in production. Dash is still pretty good but who knows how long that will last. Need to do the last airbag fix and have a nice rattle on the left side that I tried addressing (unsuccessfully) by stuffing foam behind it. Last airbag 'fix' at Rafferty they didn't help me out with the rattle at all. However, they did a nice job with the install otherwise so that's a good sign I hope for when I go back.
  3. Good to know that there may be a way to replace it through the glove box. Not that i'm in any hurry to get this done, again. So that it can later be done a 3rd time, lol. Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk
  4. Too bad you are so far away or I'd sell you cross bars from my 05 wagon. Anyone localish to mid Atlantic wants them, PM me.
  5. No power folding mirrors I believe and black interior. Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk
  6. Got a 2020 forester touring to replace the wagon. Nice car but a bit of a learning curve tech wise coming from an archaic 05 lgt... It's like a space ship, lol. Sent from my VS988 using Tapatalk
  7. No pics easily retrieved but both rear fenders rusted through badly, right front strut tower (can see the spring/strut easily though the 1" hole) plus now the grinding sound from the rear brake backing plates rubbing against the hubs due to swelling with rust. Not to mention the mechanic whom I trust told me the rear diff, brake lines and just about everything else under the car seemed suspect and I may not be able to get it through inspection without cost prohibitive repairs. Also, I just replaced the gas tank on the other 05 lgt (ouch) so that was probably next along with who knows what else. The thing was a maintenance hog already, but I kept it because the engine and transmission were still fine, and I tend to hang onto cars, and it was fun to drive. This car I bought used at 61k and the previous owner may not have washed the salt off... like ever, and it spent some time in upstate NY and elsewhere in the rust belt. Unfortunate but wcyd. Got 10 years and 100k out of it and it still runs great but the grinding sound and the info from the mechanic made us want to dump it quick. Which we did and not to a person since we are nice people. Don't buy that one! Vin ends in 343. Silver LGT Limited 5 mt wagon w black interior.
  8. I imagine it will break in a bit as well as what Max said. Also you may not have it but here we have crappy winter gas that takes a couple mpgs off at least. Just bought a forester and it is also nowhere near the supposed mileage but still breaking it in so not worried yet. Summer road trips will be more the test IMO.
  9. Washed 3 Subarus over the weekend and sold the rusty wagon. Will be missed but it was time. Past time actually. Still have a LGT sedan and a new Forester now.
  10. Seriously. Sad for the car which I loved and also sad I cant get much money for it now. So if anyone wants a parts car PM me. Everything works except for the drivers seat heater. At least I still have the LGT sedan and now a new forester.
  11. Dropped the rusty wagon off to have the exhaust swapped to the less rusty sedan. Anyone want a rusty 05 mt wagon? Runs great and was well-maintained but corrosion is winning the battle, sadly. Suitable for a part out primarily but running and inspected until march.
