PPower
EJ20H-TT, thanks for the article. It has some interesting information in there. From figures given, the average salary for Subaru of Indiana Automotive employees is $54,500. That seems pretty good for factory workers to me. "Turbocharging will bring the sedan near the output of the 270-horsepower Acura TL and into the range of the Audi A4 and BMW 3-series. The latter offers engines of 184 horsepower to 333 horsepower.....From a distance, the car resembles a BMW 3-series in profile. 'We certainly see a European appearance -- not only in the exterior, but the interior as well,' Adcock said... With only 585 dealers in the United States among the 20,000 total dealers for all brands, Subaru isn't in position to try to outsell the Honda Accord or Toyota Camry, the two cars that Indianapolis drivers often compare to the Legacy." This is EXACTLY what I'm talking about it in the b-word thread. Subaru's competition is the Atenza and Accord (US Mazda 6 and TSX), and it is being compared mainly to higher priced european cars. YET, SoA is attracting Accord/Camry buyers who want a larger car. I'm convincing myself of the idea that longer bumpers are to make the car seem longer. I have a family friend who had a great saying, "If you can't dazzle them with diamonds, baffle them with bulls***." If they can get into the sports sedan at a greater value angle working, I don't see how Legacy sales CAN'T double. Let's hope that "driven by what's inside" gets dropped and we get more of the need-desire advertising.
jk
the 2.5gt reminds me most of the audi a6 2.7t. similar size, same hp but the audi gets it from a turbo 6 and weighs about 1000lb more.
DeltaNu1142
Lazy sub. I've been busy lately with the move. Now sitting in front of Home Depot waiting for it to open. Need a couple things to restore the old apt. Nearly 100% moved out... that last 5% takes the longest. Tits mcgee
