I'm sure you guys hear stuff like this all the time, so I'm sorry. Flame suit on.. I've read around on the forums and gotten some info, but I'm in for specifics that I haven't been able to find yet, so here's my story.

I'm coming from an 03 20th anniversary edition GTI. It's pretty heavily modded, pushing around 230whp. It's having horrid electrical issues, and I just want to get rid of it. I think I'd like to get away from having a toy car, which is why I'm not really looking at an impreza of any sort.. I'd like to go for something a bit bigger and more solid, with a luxury feel. In my searches, I found a legacy 2.5gt for sale.

I've been reading up and noticed that the legacy makes 250hp. With the drivetrain loss, and extra weight of the car, I feel like it's going to be quite a bit slower than my GTI. What I'm curious about is how difficult is it to make these faster? The STI with the 2.5t makes 300hp, and can be pushed beyond that pretty easily. Is that a difference of tuning or does the engine in the legacy just not have the potential of the STI engine? I'm looking to be at at least 300awhp, but I'd really like 330-350ish. Is that kind of power attainable by bolt-ons and tuning, or am I going to need a lot of engine work to pull it off?

My other options are an 01 Audi S4 or 02 Audi A6 which shares the S4 engine.. 300+awhp is pretty easily attainable by those cars with just bolt ons, which is why I'm hoping the same for the legacy. I'm going to take a look at the car in a week or so on my next day off from work to see what kind of trade-in deal I can work for the GTI.

I looked online for the lowest prices for them and knocked off a few bucks of my price. I will sell the All-Weather ones for $40 and the carpet ones for $55 or both for $90. The buyer will be responsible for shipping costs. I can also trade both sets for new 2007 Legacy Carpet floor mats, in this case, the buyer will be responsible just for the difference in shipping because two sets of mats are havier than one. Also, if you have any other 2007 Legacy or Legacy GT parts for trade, I am open to suggestions. Let me know...

As a former Dodge owner and forever Dodge fanboy, I'm not sure how I feel about this yet. I always liked Dodge. Their advertising strategy, their model lineup, their concepts, their styling, their designs, their persistence (Always down but never out), and their cunning ability to claw their way back from the brink of defeat everytime they're down. I admire Dodge, even though their transmissions can crap out early, their interiors are likely to fall apart, their entire air conditioner systems are practically disposable, and the fact that they insist on trying to market an expensive car to a demographic who can't afford it, they still have a place in my heart.

However, their recent merger with Fiat has brought about some changes. Some are good, like the push to complete their high output direct injected V6, the introduction of a more powerful SRT8 package, their move to an 8 speed Mercedes automatic transmission for 2011 in their Charger based vehicles, and their recent marketing tweaks. Some, however, are not so good. Like the end of the Dodge Viper, the closure of an engine plant to make way for a Fiat engine plant, their move to improve fuel efficiency and plans to make more compact cars.

So, on to the topic of their recent change in logos. For those of you who don't already know, Dodge has been divided into two different divisions recently... RAM for trucks, and Dodge for cars/crossovers/everything else. The RAM line gets the same old Ram head logo (You know, the one that shares semblance to the female reproductive organs), while the regular old Dodge line gets this new logo..... In short, The model that used to be known as the "Dodge Ram 1500" is now just a "RAM 1500." RAM is the brand name, 1500 is the model name. Instead of a "Dodge Dakota," they're now calling it a "RAM Dakota." Cars, vans, SUV's, and crossovers remain unchanged. Its kind of like having a GMC Sierra, you know its still made by Chevy, and your money is still going to the same persons pocket, its just got a different badge.

My guess is that the new logo is supposed to represent the Dodge crosshair design. Anyone familiar with Dodge vehicles knows that the term "Crosshairs" refers to the design of the conventional Dodge grill. The Viper, Charger, Caravan, Nitro, and Avenger are great examples of the Dodge Crosshairs. The new logo seems to represent the crosshairs, at least in my eyes. I kind of like the new design, but at the same time I think it could be better. I know that with corporate advertising schemes I'm going to wind up seeing it until I wind up liking it, but for the time being I'm still not completely satisfied. Its going to have to grow on me before I'll make it my computer background like I used to do with the old logo.

Discuss.....

It has come time for me to part with these wheels and go with a different set up. These were the first set that Dan had sold in the US, that I know of. The rims are in perfect condition, no curbing or scratches. They will come with Sti overlay-ed center caps with the pink Sti logo on a black background. The tires mounted are Falken Fk452's 235-40/18, there is plenty of tread left on them but there is camber wear on the insides from my alignment specs.

I am looking for a serious buyer for my 2008 Silver with black leather interior Outback XT 5 speed. Here's the details:

-mileage is 32xxx
-synthetic oil changes every 3500-4000 miles at the dealer (records available)
-30000 mile service recently completed
-new Yokohama Advan S4 Tires with less than 2k miles
-premium gasoline used at all times
-adequate warm up and cool down with mostly highway miles
-handwashed with products from Griots Garage

-Kartboy shortshifter
-17" Rota G force wheels
-Tint
-Subaru all weather rubber mats and trunk mat
-wet okele seat covers on rear seats since new
-extended armrest
-cargo nets
-subwoofer option
-homelink for garage

-Warranty was purchased for 5year/100,000 miles at initial purchase that can be transferred for $35 fee collected by warranty provider.

This is a garage kept vehicle used for highway commuting to work and to the beach to surf :-), I need a larger vehicle.

It has never been raced or taken off-road other than being parked on sand.

It has 2 years of cosmetic wear.

Never been smoked in and there are no dings.

There is a small paint defect behind the right rear passenger door.

Here is the link to some photos:
