OK... I know it's been discussed but is there an official part number for a replacement stereo console panel to allow for aftermarket stereo installation? Any facts would be appreciated. :D

Crutchfield doesnt list anything for aftermarket yet, I don't know if there will be an 'official' part as I don't recall one for the WRX. Personally I think we're still 6-8 weeks away from anything. There cars are just now on dealer lots which mean companies will just be getting them to fit and test parts.

I had heard rumors there was a Subaru part available in the JDM and ADM/NJDM markets and wanted to see if there was any substance to the report.

It is in the accessories brochure (on the web) but does look quite expensive - maybe there is a bit more than a piece of plastic involved.

On the subaru.co.jp site or on the subaru.com.au site? I looked and didn't find it but then again I'm getting old and blind.

I wonder if the cost is high as you have to pay for a new clima control display as well?

It SHOULDN'T be that much, however, knowing the stealerships...

That would be my guess based on another thread that has images of the back of the full unit: http://www.legacysti.com/viewtopic.php?t=615&start=15

Is there a bigger picture? For the one din, it says it needs a pocket (the 1,449 yen one), and some more things that are cut off from the picture.

It looks like h6217ag902sc is the part, not sure unless there's a full pic.

I cannot get it to zoom in that close and get a full shot of the ad... it's not much wider to the right and the left margin is flush.

Hey, the 2004 outback has the McIntosh stereo! Think it'll fit in the 05 with this adapter?

The catalog is at http://accessory.subaru.co.jp/legacy/catalog/ if you ever want to look at other stuff.

Here's a better pic of the text:

What about the 2005 outback. Do you think there will be an instrument panel kit for that too?
