Only $1000 under invoice? Yeah, I saw the ads last month from Subaru in Aurora.. $800 under invoice for the LGTs. Currently it looks like we should be able to get around $2000 under invoice, but it'll be a fight.
Right now, I'm shopping Libertyville and Aurora, everyone else like Evansten and Schaumburg seem to be using bad sales practices. (<- opinion! :p)
And yeah, I remember you bench-pressing your RS tranny back in the day, so I will be careful. :)
Here is a tearjerker.. The RS back in the hey-day. #16 is my car :)

Sorry to hear about the RS-T. rao has it right on the LGT, you can find some excellent deals on them and they are quite the car stock, not quite your RS in handling, but still rather capable overall and there are already some good mods if you desire. Hope you snatch a good one. :)
BTW, welcome! We've got a number of Chicago people around on here. :)

check roto subaru in arlington heights if its not to far for ya. i havent delt with liberty auto city at all for sales but i personaly dont like the mulit dealer in 1 thing

Dude...get it in Highland Park @ Northshore Subaru (www.northshorecars.com). I"ve got my Legacy GT (unlimited) for 24,000 even. Speak to a certain ******** and mention my name. (PM me to get the sales guy name and MY name...) They are the best, hassle free, friendly...I have refused Schaumburg, Evanston, MidCity, Gerrad in NAperville for their aggressive business practices yet found myself at home in Highland Park. Maybe I should move there one day...

Invoice is 24593 on an unlimited GT. So u saved $593, unless of course you got the 5EAT then u saved another 1094 on top of the 593.
Almost all dealers are giving for average of 500 below invoice. Whats the good news here? I got my LTD 5EAT at $500 below invoice as well
Dont mean to be rude or anything but since i will be looking at another LGT by June i am just wondering whats the best deal out there?

Keep us posted on how you make out on the purchase and if you were able to obtain the $2000 under invoice. Come June I can go to that dealership and the 2K below invoice will pay for that dvd-navi for me. Thx

Nah you"re not being rude...jut obnoxious :-)
Don"t wrry about it...curious though when did you buy your car...the money I reported was for November of 2004. Maybe since, the sales picked up nd dealers are offering better incentives.

Revision, I'm sure you know the drama with butterfly and Highland Park. No dealer is perfect though. I was happy with Roto, the service is acceptable, plus it's only like 3 minutes from me, so that helps.

I live in downtown Chicago, and bought my Silver '05 Legacy GT Ltd 5MT sedan (49 miles) 2 days ago from Schaumburg Subaru with Sti short shift, subwoofer, compass/homelink mirror, all weather mats and armrest extension for ~$25,250 +TTL (According to edmunds.com ~ $27,500 invoice). I thought that was a great deal... over $2,200 less than invoice, all done through emails and over the phone. I obtained quotes from other dealers in the Chicagoland area and nothing came close. I could see how the internet mgr at Schaumburg could sometimes be annoying and a little "pushy" but I also was a pain in the ass right back at him (kept him there way past 9pm on a Tuesday until I got what I wanted, called them out on their BS sales talk, etc., etc.)...nothing better than a taste of their own medicine. I think he was happy to get rid of me. So, why not them? I thought the price was great. Any did better in Chicagoland?
