OK, so while at the MINI Cooper dealership to chat with the service manager there, a personal friend of mine, on my way home, I was driving by Burt Subaru, and who do I see pulling out of the parking lot while zipping by in my little Blue Cooper?........I see this beautiful Silver LGT Wagon with a great tint and dark rims....that can only be one person...
JonnyB. So, he caught up to me at a light, and I motioned to roll down his window. I introduced myself, since he would not recognize me (driving the MINI and not the Outback)...and we went to lunch. What are the chances? That also happened to be my first LGT Wagon sighting....man, that was cool.

anyway, Jonny, it was good meeting you, and I will PM you contact info for a possible garage day sometime soon when your items come in.

What....no one else in Colorado spotted anyone else? Sheesh, are we that few and far between?

Maybe, as i have only seen one LGT Sedan and of course Jonny's LGT Wagon (the only LGT wagon I have seen on the road). I have seen a hand full of Outback 2.5i's on the road, but only 2 other XT's. I seriously thought I would have seen more with sales being a record high recently.

most of them i didn't get a chance to see the driver because it's either on the opposite lane, too far away, or too dark (i am a vampire), the ones i did see were like 50+ yrs old which i don't think will hang out here. i have also been to the boulder area quite a few times since last summer (i think there are more subarus there) but have yet to see any 05 legacy/outback... i guess i should go out more now that the weather is getting warmer and i am no longer sick after 30+ days. :)

Back to the topic at hand... I feel like I see a thousand '05 2.5i Outbacks everyday. Today, I spotted a blue 2.5i sedan on 285. Most of the time though, its all outback, all the time.

I also see a ton of outbacks, but the 2.5i, not XTs. I think I have only seen 2 others total, XT's. Maybe I will see some more LGTs when I go in for my first service next Tuesday, hehe.

I see several 05 Outbacks every day, and have seen 1 GT sedan (other than Simpletons' and Timbuk's.) When we got together a couple weeks ago, the Simpletons metioned a big rally in the late Spring / early Summer down here in the Springs at Hueberger. From the sounds of it, dozens of high performance Subarus. That might be a good time to find new folks in the area and network...

I saw a red XT with a massive rack on the roof, tray and everything with a wind deflector. Saw it Thursday down town, about 1pm or so, near coors field. A guy in his mid 30's driving....he was headed south on Blake, I was headed west on Park.

Wow! I've seen one, count it, one 05 LGT since I got mine about 5 weeks ago. This was last weekend at the gas station just off I-70 at the Dillon exit on my way up for some skiiing at Copper. Black, non-tinted windows, tan leather interior. Anyone want to claim it?

On the way to work, saw a Black OBXT passing me in the opposite direction. Right off of Park Ave and 19th. I always loved how a black car with a good tint looks....just hated CLEANING a black car. My Audi was black, 2 hours after washing it, it looked dusty, and what a pain to hide the swirls after 4 years.

while driving around the outskirts of Parker yesterday, little road trip with the girlfriend who is recovering from knee surgery, I saw MANY outbacks, a black XT, and 3 other 2.5i's. I am growing kinda partial to the light blue color with the grey lowers....but still love my silver. One color I really don't like is the light funky green with the dark green lowers, kinda makes my eyes hurt.

Indigo, I take it your gf had some complications following the knee surgery?

Yeah, she ended up with a DVT, deep vein thrombisis (a blood clot), from her left hip down to her left ankle, some of it broke off and landed in her right lung and that resulted in the pulmonary embolis. Not a good thing. The problem is I work in health care, Hematology and Oncology, and I know too much. I have been pretty stressed and freaked out this week, but the good news is she is FINALLY making a turn for the better.

Thanks everyone, for the thoughts and concern. The hardest part is being at work (at one hospital) while she is in the hospital (a different one).

My hope is to have her home again with me this coming week.

Betsy is doing somewhat better. I was just visiting her after my night shift, and she looks ok, not great, but ok. They finally got her INR level where they want it, so she is coming home today. I came home to catch a little sleep, then back to the hospital to pick her up. I called work and took a sick day so I can take care of her tonight until we get things settled.

Call me any time tomorrow, you know my cell number, we can figure out Tuesday, hopefully I will be around as we are gonna try to get her appointments for Monday. So, after your alignment appointment, you should just head up to the house and help me install my front sway bar ;)

should be a great day for you to play soccer, hope you all had a good trip, and that Berkley kept you entertained.

To keep things on track, I spotted no new legacy's or outbacks on the way home today, a bunch of older ones, but nothing new. :(

Saw another black LGT at 9:30am this morning on Santa Fe and the C470....front-end demolished, left tire destroyed, windshield bowed outward. The wreck was sitting on a semi with 5 or 6 other wrecks, heading towards Klodies (car parts yard or some such).

I have spent the past couple of days hauling stuff around in the Tacoma, so all of my sightings were "one way". I spotted 2 silver LGT sedans, both with rear wings, both tinted, one had some type of graphic or lettering on the front windshield. I also spotted MANY outbacks, turbo and non turbo. I have to say that the green color they have for the new outback is...well, uhm....not my favorite.

It sucks seeing so many legacy's or outbacks when I am not in mine, usually i rarely see any, but the past 2 days, I have seen at least a dozen, mostly on the I-25 to Santa Fe route I have been driving several times each day

I was at an intersection waiting to turn left and this car drove past me. I saw him throw a look over his shoulder as he drove by to get another look. Its the same thing as if I was an accident and someone drove by and "rubber necked" to get another look as they drove by.

Also today I spotted a silver legacy(not sure if it was a GT or not but assume so) from the inside of Ballys Total Fitness on Hampden and Sante Fe.

Dang it the legacy's are becoming more numerous....now I don't feel quite as special. Before I only saw the Silver one that parks in the same garage at me at CU. Otherwise I'd see one once every month.

Was nice to meet you man. You are right on with the traffic and the freaking lake that we drove through. Thanks for the compliments on the Legacy. Other than what you mentioned, modifications include:

Cobb Stage II v1.10 with Perrin up-pipe, downpipe, Lachute axle back, Greddy electronic boost gauge, and the all too important Escort Passport 8500/hard wired with remote.

Future plans depend upon what I see on the market. I will likely finish off the exhaust with Lachute or I'll go custom. I'm thinking that 300 wheel is ultimately where I would like to be. Driveable and reliable but fast as hell. Considering Perrin top mount, 18G, and Cobb Pro Tuner custom tune along with the obligatory injectors, pump, etc... For now, the Stage II will convincingly put a stock or lightly modified STi in the rear view. Smaller tie me over mods may include a larger rear sway and something like an anti-lift kit. Keep me updated on whats going on. Would love to see your wagon when you get the ION's on there!

I see a silver LGT in Boulder almost like mine all the time. I have only seen one other and it was cream colored in Westminister near the movie theaters.

I drive a silver LGT with matching silver 5 spoke rims, window tint, tinted license plate covers with black caps over the license plate bolts around Broomfield/Boulder.

Lafayette now has a new stealth black Ford F150 driving up and down north 287!

It looks like a custom truck but the lights are hidden in the grill and behind the windshield at the top. All the windows are dark tint and it even has a toolbox in the bed.

That seems totally immoral to me. The point should be on safety not just revenue generating. Seems to me everyone drives fast because they don’t see cops on the road, hide the cops and the safety aspect of it is completely lost.

My LGT is so safe at higher speeds the speed limit is a joke around here. 55 mph in the LGT is like 25 mph in my F150 truck. No matter what the road conditions are like.

Oh well, guess we got to learn to behave :-(

That is correct. It is designed for stealth and making money, not for safety, traffic inforcement, or even pursuit. I imagine they require an interceptor somewhere for support but I didn't see one.

As for the plates, I was lucky that one, the dealer collected too much tax when I purchased the vehicle, so the difference was applied to title and registration, and two, I had credit from my old pathfinder registration that I traded, also applied to title and registration. Still was amazed at how much it cost me at the DMV though.

I also live in Thornton...Keep an eye out for me!

I just pulled my Silver LGT in line with the rest of them and then got out to look at the cool mods most of them had done. AWDPirates are a high altitude performance group for all subies.

We ought to jump over to that site and arrange for a bigger meet.

Hey, thanks for the plug legaru! It was good to meet you. The meet was actually organized by the STi folks over at IWSTi.com (http://www.iwsti.com), I was just doing some shameless plugging while I was there. :)

AWDPirates.NET (http://www.awdpirates.net) is a pretty close community of folks all up and down the front-range (Colorado, Wyoming, Utah, New Mexico), but we also have members from all over. Most of the members are Subaru (all, and I mean ALL types are represented), and EVO drivers, but we have other turbo, non-turbo, AWD and non-AWD folks as well. We are constantly having meet and drives, track days, and when winter comes around, we like go up to Georgetown to play around on the ice lake with informal racing. Keep an eye on the Community forum.

We are pretty easy to spot, just look for the Fritz parrot mascot stickers (kind of looks like a pickle) roaring past. Give us a wave!

about 530pm on 10-11-05, spotted a black LGT sedan heading east on Lincoln east of I-25...going to Parker. I was in the OBXT heading west on Lincoln stuck in traffic. The black sedan had a nice dark tint, 20% or darker, and the DRL's were disabled...which makes me think HID's... My HID's were on, and have blue bike racks on the car. I nodded at you, but could not see you since your windows were so dark.

Spotted in the Springs Tuesday morning about 0800: Black GT going west on Academy near Hwy 115. I was the red GT right behind you.

Was this a wingless LGT? I work around the intersection of Academy & 115. It could have been me.

Was this LGT speeding? If nobody's in front of me (obviously) on the bridge at the south-most point on Academy.... I'll completely ignore the 45mph sign.

about 745am today, red LGT sedan, debadged, girl driving, in Parker, heading east on Lincoln through the Jordan intersection...she was talking on her cell phone. I was on Jordan headed north, waiting for the light to change.

I see a bunch of LGT sedans out there, yesterday, another red sedan, at Main and Jordan, and 3 OBXTs while heading west on Lincoln back to 25.

Today around 1pm, south bound I-25 between Highlands Ranch and Castle rock... you were in a red GT, no spoiler. I was in a silver GT, no spoiler.

I pulled into the far right lane to pass a bunch of slow pokes and got it to near 100mph... saw in my rear view mirror a car doing the same... turns out it was your GT.

It was a fun little run. You got off at the Outlet mall.

Went to Keystone today, putting on my boots when a dark blue LGT pulled in next to me in my white one :) chatted for a bit about how bad my tires suck in the snow.... I bought the car used, and it has some silly summer z rated tires that slide sideways great, but i dont like straight line drifting on I70... maybe someone else does...

I think I've seen you (most likely). Only.... I'd be coming the opposite direction, cause I work the mids up at Cheyenne Mountain AFS. I get off work at 6AM.

There's another LGT up on the hill as well. His is SWP non Ltd w/ an auto.

I like shopping at that Safeway right there. Cause occasionaly..... somebody (yuppie) will ask me what kind of car it is.... seeing as how it has perf leather, moonroof, 17s & looks really good! I get the shock-factor look when I tell them it's a Scooby!

about 530pm on 10-11-05, spotted a black LGT sedan heading east on Lincoln east of I-25...going to Parker. I was in the OBXT heading west on Lincoln stuck in traffic. The black sedan had a nice dark tint, 20% or darker, and the DRL's were disabled...which makes me think HID's... My HID's were on, and have blue bike racks on the car. I nodded at you, but could not see you since your windows were so dark.

That was me im pretty sure I drive down lincoln towards Parker around 5:00- 5:30 everyday from school. I have 15% window tint you were pretty close!!!! :icon_bigg

I ended up catching up to a black lgt earlier, it was about 9:00 pm on Parker road in Parker. It had the stock wing, window tint and was debadged. We ended catching the light at Parker and Mainstreet together but they turned right :icon_frow

Driving down Santa Fe yesterday around 8:00am and passed a White GT sedan. Was that you Timbuktu? You were behind me as we got onto I-25 but I did'nt see you after the 6th Ave overpass. :)
Also I went to Microcenter (computer store around I-25 and I-225) Friday and when I came out there was a Blue GT sedan parked next to me. Anybody here? Then when I was pulling out of the parking lot saw a Silver GT sedan parked a couple rows over. Anybody here? :)
Good to see some more GTs. I see alot of Outbacks but I'm starting to see alot more GTs :)

The black w/ black was at the fish shop that I went in(Key's Island, I'm a reefer addict =D).

Also today I spotted a silver legacy(not sure if it was a GT or not but assume so) from the inside of Ballys Total Fitness on Hampden and Sante Fe.

Dang it the legacy's are becoming more numerous....now I don't feel quite as special. Before I only saw the Silver one that parks in the same garage at me at CU. Otherwise I'd see one once every month.


That was most definetly me...I used to go there pretty much every day, until Premier Fish and Reef opened up at Wads and Hampden...I was pretty close with the owner there at Keys, but I got close with the people at Premier (first customer) and I like their selection of fish better...

I'm new to the board (didn't know about it till I got my Remote start put in and the guy there who has a white LGT told me about it, I've been missing out)...I've been noticing more and more LGT (not too many wagons though)...the only other black ones I've seen...one that works in the shopping mall where I used to get my fish (Todd's tropical fish....don't get any SW fish there)...and then there's one near my neighborhood, a girl with no tint new Quincy and Wadsworth....

I'm pretty sure that I saw your LGT outside of Littleton Hospital (or the surgery center next to it) a week or so ago. Same badging (or lack thereof). Black on black with a baby seat behind the passengers seat and only the GT badge on the back. Am I right?

Nope wasn't me...I haven't been to Littleton Hospital for over a year...Only time I have a baby seat is when I have to pick up my little brother (maybe once a month)...but he's always in when the seat's in there...
