Looks like my family and I will be living here for the next 3 years. We are living on Misawa Air Base. My LGT is in storage, but we made up for it with our 2 new/old cars. A 93 WRX and 98 Forester turbo. Look forward to sightseeing, especially Autobacs!!!

Have fun in Misawa (good memories for me) and don't forget to take in the Sapporo Ice Festival - some of the most awesome ice carvings/sculpture you'll ever see anywhere.

Good luck, sounds cool
Marcus- start a Japan blog (with lotsa pics), if you have the time.
It'll be one of the most popular threads on the entire site- guaranteed.
I left a decade ago and miss it a bunch.

Still waiting on Internet, we will be getting it tomorrow. So far everything is wondeful. Beautiful country, semi-great weather (compared to EL Paso), women are A1, and seen alot of wild cars here. Picked up Option magazine, saw the actual Subaru Exige, and as the wife translates it..its a van...thats right, a van..Its supposed to compete with the Japanese Honda Oddessy, which is way different than US maodel..Hopefully I will be posting pics this weekend.

Love Japan so far..Been having a lot of fun beating up on my little 93 wrx...verylight nimble and fun...sort of funny with the stick being on the left..lucky for me I am left handed. We went to Super Autobacs in Hachinohe, actually a little disappointed..its more like a Gigantic Pep Boys, but thats just my opinion. We also wound up a an Up Garage, which I liked alot more...Good used parts CHEAP...THey also had a tricked out 4 wheeler, and a Honda Ruckus Tricycle..Pretty sweet...We gotta start taking and posting pics soon....

Lived and traveled throughout Japan for nearly 10 years. You'll enjoy Misawa... I always enjoyed it when I would work up there.
A lot like Anchorage weather wise... and I would kill for your crappy 93... Alaska has 90 (and we refine our own!)

Marcus,
You wouldn't be willing to show some love to a couple of OBXT drivers stateside would you? mschneider and I are trying to find a way for someone over there to buy 2 sets of Bilstein BTS 5056J Outback specific suspensions and send them to us. I've got a friend with a friend in Tokyo, but it is a little too convoluted trying to deal with non-car oriented people :)
My GF is a reservist at the Portland National Guard, not sure if that would help for military shipping.
