So, I decided I should stock up my liqueur supply here in the new house and have myself a proper home bar. What are some of your suggestions for the necessary types and brands?

I just usually get the middle or bottom shelf to stock the stuff i don't really drink. And keep the top shelf stuff for what i have often... In vodka and bourbons case i have high and low qualities for mixing and cooking. If i had to pick one thing, for me it would be Bakers 7.

Good single malt --lots of good choices, I like Bruichladdigh and Balvenie double wood

Good Tequilla, anejo if you like sipping and good flavors

Mixers? Triple sec, vermouth, bloody mix, soda, tonic, rosies lime, and sour mix.

You need some gin, Sapphire or Hendricks

Rum = Don't really care but Mount Gay or Bacardi will do
Tequila = Patrone Silver
Scotch (blended) = Red label etc.
Scotch (Single Malt) = Glenfidich, Lagavulin, The Dalmore etc.
Whiskey (Sour Mash) = Jack Daniels Single Barrel
Whiskey (Kentucky Bourbon) = Knob Creek, Makers Mark, or Bookers

As you can tell I am more of a Scotch, or Bourbon kind of guy.

I had it once too. Someone took a bunch of us from work out to dinner for the holidays like 7-8 years ago as a treat. We got blue & everyone was oooohing & ahhhing & I just kinda shrugged it as whatever. It was funny because the guy treating us had the same reaction as me. :lol:

Depends on what type of drinks you will typically make. In college my supply was geared towards shots, Rum, Vodka, 151, Curacao, Tequilla, Jager, Goldschlager, some Baileys or Kaluha for the girls.
