I know what will be the very first CD I will play in the new GT when I pick it up for my very first ownership drive... Patrick O'Hearn for sure! 8)
Hmmm....
Junkie XL Featuring Saffron : Beauty Never Fades...
Now if I could just find it on CD.
Oh crap I almost forgot I have to change my answer, it would be that B4 commercial song if I can get someone in Japan to sell and ship it to me!

Actually I might consider playing "Ride of the Valkyries" by Richard Wagner as my first...or maybe I will wait for that one after the cars breaking in period is complete...we will see!

It's a toss up between "girl you know it's true" by Milli Vanilli or anything by those genuis' in a band called Nelson
Just kidding. I think it will be something more along the lines of Tool, Tribe Called Quest, or perhaps System of a Down. I guess it depends on my mood ;)

"Jerry was a race car driver" Primus
You know it! I'll rock anything by Primus.
If you're going out on a good cruise to break in the car, you need some ZZ Top.
"La Grange"
some old school:
Van Halen "Hot for Teacher"
Yukonart
01-13-2004, 11:20 PM
La Grange is THE crusing song.
I think for my first drive, it'll have to be "Open Road Song" by Eve6 ;)
goneskiian
01-13-2004, 11:33 PM
I'll be listening to:
"The Sweet Sound of Turbo" by Subaru!
With a chorus of "Slow down Honey!" by my wife. :(

^^ You might want to calm yourself for the first few weeks for delayed gratification. It's call "break-in period".
team23jordan
01-13-2004, 11:47 PM
yah i know about that "break-in"
STi's break in period was 1000 miles...which is freakin a lot
1000 miles is a lot for me cause i drive less than 30 miles a day!
how many miles for legacy to 'break in'?

Thought I would revive this thread. Since some of you have your cars, what have you been listening to?
I think for me, I would listen to "Superman" or is it 'Kryptonite' -- not sure who the band is...memory is fading...
Or possibly something a bit more mellow... Marley, perhaps, on the way home, to keep the break-in in check.

I actually burned a compilation just for my test drive, I can't remember the order offhand, it went something like this:
Titan - Corazon (Nortec mix)
Lionrock - Fire Up the Shoesaw
Thievery Corporation - Lebanese Blonde
Pizzicato 5 - Lupin
Beefcake - Surrender
Fantastic Plastic Machine - Allen Ginsburg
Garbage - Push It
Fluke - Absurd
Cubanate - Oxyacetylene
C-Tec - Stormtrigger
Funker Vogt - The Race is On
AFI - Totalimmortal
Uhh... Yeah. There's several more tracks I can't remember. It's a little weird, but it's fun and gets me pumped up.

quite a bit of variation on this board, musically at least.
Pac sounds cool.
I'll probably put in "Elevators by Outkast" and once they get to Caddillac, I'll just add "..slammin Legacy doors..."
Peace,

There's a whole bunch of awesome Propellerheads mixes out there, one of my favorites is of Luscious Jackson's Naked Eye. As for Soul Coughing, I think M Doughty is doing solo stuff that sounds pretty good, and I liked the song he did with BT a lot.
Can't believe no one's mentioned "Born to be Wild" by Steppenwolf. That song always gets my blood flowing. So it'd be either that or "Ezy Rider" by Jimi Hendrix.

Well, I just basically switched out the 6 cd's out of the changer in my wrx into the legacy (I had just stopped in to look, they said I could have it the same day, and I was busy throwing stuff into the trunk while they did the paperwork...)
Anyway, I don't know that I actually listened to a cd for the first few days, but the first oen I remember actually deciding to listen to was a Frank Sinatra CD...just seemed right...

Ok all, I have the perfect track for a first time drive...
Mona Lisa Overdrive by Juno Reactor!
It's the song that played during the freeway chase scene in the Matrix Reloaded.
and it's a 10 minute song to boot!
I'll pretend I'm outrunning a bunch of Cadillac Escalades and CTS's!

Make sure you roll down your windows and crank it up when you pull up next to the low-rider caddy w/spinners. :) I actually keep a Frank Sinatra cd with me at all times for this very reason.
I was just thinking about what music I was going to put together to go pick up my wife's Atlantic Blue Pearl GT this weekend.
My list so far:
Jimi Hendrix - Voodoo child slight reprise (best driving song evar)
Bob Marley - Sun is shining
Audioslave - Set it off
Finish it off w/Tool and A Perfect Circle

His live at the Acropolis concert, and "in Celebration of Life" compilation are actually quite up-beat. I guess you have to be in a classical-style mood...
I feel kinda weird being able to name the artist and album of some elevator muzak, sometimes...
