Members, please follow the links provided about and read a few of the previous posts made by these potential mods. Then vote for whom you feel best deserves moderator status.

Thanks again for everyone who volunteered, it's great to know that we have so many people interested in helping continue to build the site and I appreciate every bit of it.

I'd like to be a monderator on this site just becuase I spend many hours on the board throughout the day so I'm able to constantly maintain a watchful eye over posts. I also really think this board is going somewheres and would like to contribute in all ways possible. I don't feel the need to really get lengthy in this but the facts are that I spend a lot of time here and like to contribute, I've already donated to the site and I feel this would be a next stop, and would appreciate if fellow members felt I was deserving of this responsibility. Regardless of your decisions thanks for reading and have a pleasant stay.

I'd like to be a moderator since I have been on the forum for awhile, and I would like to offer something to return to the community. I first joined the forum earlier than the other moderator candidates (:p). I think I have a good grasp about what Tide and the members want the forum to accomplish, and how they want it to work. :)

I would like to be given the opportunity to contribute to this site to make it grow in a positive direction. This site has so much growth potential that it is very exciting to me. I know I have the dedication to become a mod.

I may not have the most technical knowledge of some of the other members here, but I feel that I do have a solid general knowledge of cars, the automotive industry, as well as how a car forum should run.

Tide, whatever decision you make, I know it will be the best one for the members and the site. Thanks.

I only threw my hat in the ring to provide a last resort. The very last resort if you look at the poll :). There are some good choices available. I hope whomever wins will use thier powers for good.

I hope I can be a mod here and keep this community moving in a good direction. I'll keep threads where they belong and merge reposts and multiple threads. I'll make sure if it's tikki related - it goes strait to tikki instead of finding out the hard way in the office.
I'll also try to keep post whoring to a minimum, since it can't be completely stopped.

I hope to be a mod and hopefully catch things immediately before it has a chance to be annoying or get someone in trouble at work.

If you want a mod - vote for me.

- Mike

Vote for me... I am the c00l3st. ;)

Actually, there are others who probably have more time to spend online than me, but I have a rep for being smart, honest, fair and patient.....age will do that to you. Mod qualities? Up to you guys and girls.

Anyways....I wanted to give something back to the group as I have learned alot from many of you in my short time as a Suby owner. The list is a quality one.....we will be well served by any two people selected from it. Please also take a minute to ask others you know on this board to vote too - this site is only as good as the people involved and your input on selecting new moderators matters.

Thanks,
Dan

Sorry folks for not responding sooner. I finally hit the magic 1000 miles today and my wife and I took off for the mountains to wring out the new wagon and see what stuff it's made of. It did not disappoint either of us. I was wahooing and my wife was commenting about how composed the car was in the twisty turneys. Anyway, you owners with more longevity with your cars, know what I'm talking about... it's a Subaru thing.

So what can I add that would be helpful. When it really comes down to it, I don't like talking about myself; never have. Love talking about my Subarus, my family, my dog, the Navy and you all. But it's always been hard to talk about me.

Let me start by talking first about the forum and I'll weave some of me into that conversation.

I've been on here a short time but I think I've read almost every post at some point in time... I spend a lot of time in the forum and answer up when I can or it's appropriate to respond for clarity. This forum is a great venue, where ideas are shared, questions are asked, new techniques are tried out and in one way or another we all learn something. Something about our cars, something about ourselves and about each other.

What I particularly like about the forum is the sense of community that we have... make that more like a family. I know that if I were to contact any one of you and let you know that I'm going to be in your area, somehow or other, if it's possible, we would get together and talk about the world of Subaru and have fun getting to know each other more. Heck, one of our friends from Down Under was going to be in the LA area last month and several people popped up to volunteer their time to host him while he was here. I like that and work to promote that sense of community

Having been a member of several Subaru boards for at least the past 7 years, I've seen great and not so great stewardship of those various boards. I like what I see here on LegacyGT.com. There's something for everyone and it will get even better with time. Stewardship is a big deal to me, as is personal responsibility and accountability. If I say I'm going to do something, I will turn over every rock I have to to make that happen. I've seen the mods do that for this board and we owe them all a special thanks

Moderators play a critical role in the function of any on-line forum. Mods need to ensure that the work gets done, the place gets kept clean and ready for the next day's posts and that we cover for each other when we're out of pocket. It's also about balancing a new member's present need for information with older member's need for retrieval and updates to prior posts, or just sharing the jokes and events that make up our world. That takes a lot of effort. And effort and sensitivity to member's needs is what I'm ready, willing and able to put into this process.

I've owned and operated Subarus from 1974 to the present. I've autocrossed them, rally prepped them and beat the living dog snot out of several older ones to see what they could take and was so impressed that I've been a life-long owner. Yes we really do have five Subarus (really six now counting the LGT but the Forester is for sale and we'll be back to five again soon). I live, eat and breathe these cars. Call me a fanatic, call me crazy, but don't try to pry my Subaru out of my hands or you'll get hurt. Things I love in order of importance: God, my family, my Country and my Subarus (and the dog too). Things I care about: work, recreation, and unwinding with you all on this board.

Finally, every one of the moderator candidates is a great choice. They will each serve you well, which, in the final analysis, is what mods are supposed to do; serve at the pleasure of the site head (Tide) and to work for you the members. So vote for whomever you want and know that I will support your choice. We all have an input to the success of this board.

Best regards,
SBT

edit: sorry for the long post - I told you I didn't like to talk about myself so it had to be woven in there somewhere.

Vote for me becasue I spend way too much time online. I also just happen to be a technician and an electrician. So I like to pretend I know what I'm talking about. Um, I also am like totally rad for this position. Some one has to bring some humor into this serious stuff.

Also as having the highest horespower XT, (I'm currently at 5 godzillion HP, adding a perrin filter soon, shooting for 5 godzillion and a half.) I feel I am the natural choice.

And if for no other reason, my name is Wiener!

I'm not gonna even attempt to toot my horn. Any of the above choices will make an excellent moderator. It is truely a win-win situation for everyone.

The one thing I will say is what a moderate should be, or any member on this board for that matter, and that is tolerant. This board has grown enourmous even from the time I joined in August. There are many people who join the board with varied levels of experience and knowledge. Not everyone is a expert on everything. If you have a suspension question, the best person to talk to would be Keefe. At the same time some may have general automotive knowledge or knowledge specific to the GT or Outback. There is no reason why someone should get ridiculed/bashed for an opinion or informantion they gave. Respectfully disagree/debate the topic or provide supporting facts. But keep it respectful!

As moderator the one thing I would like to produce more of is FAQ's regarding common mods and common questions. Such as a thread on TMIC's, FMIC's, Turbo's...ect.

I have enjoyed jumpin on the board since day one. Not only because of the discussion's about the cars we love (there is always something new to learn), but because it's a board you can have a good time on and a laugh (general/tiki). Something that cannot be said for many other boards out their.

Either way Tide deserves a big thanks for LegacyGT.com!!!!! :D

You go out of town for a few days and miss everything :)

If people want me to help out as a moderator, I'd be happy to. If not, thet's fine as well.
