When's the best time to buy new summer tires?

OK I know, stupid question, probably cheapest in the winter. Or is it? I'm putting on my blizzaks soon, and my oem 92's are shot. So after the winter, looking at new summers. Trying to decide about cheap (exclaim UHP or kumho SPT), or better (eagle f1 gsd3 or Potenza RE050A pole position). I haven't bought before from the tirerack or other online stores. Does the price of summers go down in the winter, or are there enough buyers in the south to keep the prices about the same......just looking for the cheapest time to buy a new set....

I don't think the prices ever change for high performance rubber - they only go up each year

I've tried to hunt foe the best price over the last 3 years. Unless they go on sale randomly, the price just goes up each year. You can't really plan a best time to buy.

best bet is find a local guy who has them in stock and ask for a discount once it's cold out. may go for it to clear out stock.
