So tonight I came up with the bright idea of taking a long weekend and flying to Japan to attend this year's auto show. Open to the public from Oct 27 to Nov 11 and located in Chiba. I take it that Chiba is near Tokyo?

If I make it to Narita Airport, how do I get to where the show is? Is it close by train or other modes of transport?

Help.

Thanks.

Haha! Did you buy your ticket already?

Where exactly is the autoshow being held?

Narita airport is located in Chiba prefecture so at least you won't have to travel too far... especially with the bullet train at your disposal.

I spent 4 months in Chiba/Tokyo 3 years ago - so certain costs may change, but this is what I encountered:I take it the show is at Makuhari Messe (near Chiba). If that's the case, you can take a "regular train" from NRT to the stop called "Makuharu Hongo", hop on a shuttle bus from the train station, and it will drop you off right in front of the convention center. The train ride will cost you about $10-$15USD, and will take about a hour. While the bus will take about 5min, and set you back about $2. Majority of the signs are in English.

Unfortunately bullet train does not run out of Narita airport, and you're looking at at least $60 for a taxi ride.

Chiba is about 45min. train ride from downtown Tokyo.

All and all, traveling by train is the best way around Tokyo.

Let me know if you have anymore questions...

Hi Guys - I am currently in Japan/Osaka on holidays (Im Australian) and will be heading over to tokyo in two days. I will be paying the motorshow a visit when I get there. The motorshow website is pretty comprenhisve in showing you how to get there.

Does anyone know if their are any auto stores in Osaka or which area they might be in?

Just came back from the motorshow today and it is crazily busy. To get to see the new GTR, you have to wait for ages - there is a crowd at lest 15 people thick constantly and you cant see it till youre pretty much in front.
