So I popped a tire yesterday on my stock tires (Potenza RE050A 215/45/R18). Dealer told me that as long as tread is within 20% of new, I can put one new one on there and be fine, otherwise i gotta replace all 4. Tread is within 30%, so I'm looking at 4 new tires. I want the Potenza RE050A Pole Position tires, but they only come in 225/45/R18. I called TireRack and the guy said that they would rub on my car. Is this true? According to a tire size calculator, I would gain 0.36" in diameter (+0.18" sidewall height), and 0.39" of width. Any help is greatly appreciated, I need to get this taken care of fast!

Go with 225/40/18 and you'll be fine, they have this size in the RE050A PP. I have 245/45/18 w/ only cut rear fenders and I'm fine.

somebody mentioned that you can get a tire "shaved" if you buy it from www.tirerack.com, for a small fee.

I would need a 7.5" wide rim to get those.

I went with the Kumho Ecsta SPT 215/45/18
