Just wondering what the sales for the new Legacy range have been like in Japan
Good or bad - bit hit or not ?

Well I feel like I am the only legacy gt here in CO. I have seen only one legacy on the road besides me and that was like a month ago(probably near the time of your post). I actually like it because it makes my car seem rare, but I still hate the Camry looking lights. Seen a couple of forester xt's(3), and outback xt's(4) since I got my car on about 12/23

rkl303 I'm feelin ya. I have a silver Legacy GT wagon and have seen three sedans since I picked my car up around the same time you did. Actually yesterday my wife and I were out and I saw a silver Legacy GT wagon -which had 2.5i wheels on it which was wierd- so I sped up to get a better look and some 60 year old lady was driving. WOW! But anyways it's nice that you don't see that many GT's since here in Colorado all you see is Outbacks -which my wife and I have also a white 2002 Outback wagon- But I guess since Colorado is the largest selling Subaru state I'm sure your going to see a lot of Outbacks and Foresters.

Yes just hope the legacy numbers are kept down. =D
I know what you mean about outbacks and foresters numbers. I also thought denver used to have alot of b5 a4s along w/ the a6's but the b5 a4's have been disappearing quickly.

He's asking about Japan. Personally I have no idea. Have you tried checking Subaru.co.jp? Maybe they have some information. Try using a translator such as http://world.altavista.com/.
In Japan, I know that the Legacy is more of a hit than it is in the states, or probably even Australia, so the numbers will probably reflect that.

From an overall perspective, sales are good, but they are not quite in the numbers of the overly dominant twin-turbo that it replaced. Part of that is shock at the identity change, other reasons are perceptual - going from a twin to a single hurt a bit at the marketing end, even though the new engine setup is really a lot better. Aftermarket has been a bit slow to pick up as well - mainly because subaru did such a good job with the car in base form, owners are afraid to go further.
