I just downloaded the newest versions of both of these programs (now I see I should probably revert ECUFlash). My buddy just got an XPT map for a 2005 WRX and it opens the tables fine within ECUFlash (wrong units) but it wont load in Enginuity.

The question is A: can you change the units from metric to US in ECUFlash and B: why wont it load in Enginuity.

While i'm on the subject, what is everyone using for logging? I still use ECUExplorer but I see people saying that Enginuity has the capabilities now and I think ECUFlash does too, so are there any advantages to which program you use to log? Same with looking over maps, does Enginuity do graphs that ECUFlash wont do or vise versa?

braden hacks the calid bit on purpose so it will look like an unrecognized map type.

theres a way to get around this, look around enginuity for it.

Make sure you download the latest defs for enginuity.

The logger allows many more useful parameters to log than ecuexplorer.

I figured he did something to them...

Since ECUFlash will open them without an error, do you know if it's possible to change the units? I trust what he is doing but I also like to look through the maps and attempt to learn a little.

AFAIK, he will give you the defs if you log onto his website.

He changes the cal id. You can download the defs on his site. The reason it shows up in Ecuflash for you is because when Ecuflash doesn't recognize a rom, it asks if you want to inherit from or clone another rom's definitions, which you did, but didn't realize. I would not use this to tune with, however, as you do not know if the rom you inherited/cloned from is 100% correct for the original rom that ev8siv3 modified.
