Just ran across this thread on Nasioc about the 2007+ LEV II emissions giving some STI owners a world of trouble with lean conditions. Some reading at high as stoich(14.7 AFR) from 3.2K rpm's and up on the stock map

There have been some dyno runs of '07 LGTs and they clearly show that AFR 14.7 was being held all the way to 3800 rpm even at WOT . Seems too high to me.
I know the latest revision of the VAGCOM cables are CAN. However, can they be used to datalog? What happens when the datalogger can't identify the ecuid? Has anyone tried datalogging an '07 LGT? And if so, how did they do it?
The 07 STi is not CAN.

I vaguely remeber someone stating in the datalog thread of sucessfully being able to log his 07' with the Vag cable. If this is true all you modded un-tuned guys should really be logging. The addition of modifications will only further "skew" the ecu readings.

I actually saw the same thing on my bone stock 05 at the track

Is this w/ a wideband or the stock sensor? Where is the WB located?

I have a dyno sheet for my '08 from a couple of days ago that shows a/f at ~ 14.7 to 4050 rpm then sliding down to 12 @ 4200 with a linear move to 10 @ 5800. if I can figure out how to link it I will include a pic.

a/f is load based not rpm based. I can run at 14+ at 6k with very light load.
So that's how the Spec makes it's MAd PoWEr

Dyno charts are usually done at WOT. That's what I'm talking about.
And AFR is LOAD AND RPM based unless you tune like ride5000.

That post on Nabisco said it blew in Venezuala on Venezualan gas. I'm pretty sure we have different gas standards here in the US (better or worse?)

I have a 2008 GT and I want to make sure my car is running healthy. Where can I get this Vag cable. I've been reading about datalogging and tactrix cable and enginutiy but I am still learning more about it. Where can I get this Vag cable and start datalogging?
what?

Well if they break before 60k, Subaru pays for it.

It can be purchased off ebay, http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/USB-VAG-COM-409-COMPATIBLE-KKL-DUAL-K-OBD-2-CABLE-OU_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ43989QQihZ006QQitemZ 160145396052QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW

Can I use that for my 2008? or do I need a CANBUS one like this http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/VAG-Commander-Cable-w-Interface-CANBUS-Diagnostic-Tool_W0QQitemZ280140354212QQihZ018QQcategoryZ33598 QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Someone with a 2007 LGT which also has the CAN ecm stated he was sucessfully able to log with the cord I linked. The CAN cord shouldn't be needed since you will just be viewing the ecm parameters and not changinging them. The cord you link is very interesting though, I wonder if these cables would allow enginuity and open ecu programs the cabability to tune...

The VAG-COM cables are meant primarily for VW and Audi cars (as well as some other European cars). Audi changed over to CAN in 2005.5. I don't know how that affects logging, but the cable that Infamous1 linked should also be CAN.
I know that OBDII scanners have to be CAN compatible to work with CAN ecus and they use the same wires as datalogging so I was under the impression that the CAN OBD interface requires a CAN compatible cable to log as well.

I would like to know who has done this? Because atleast 30 of us on here are dying to get tuning, or logging.

It was actually an 08' LGT and it was stated in the dataloging thread, besides the cord is only $20 anyone with an 07 or 08 should of tried this LONG AGO!
Not having found an answer elsewhere, I figured I'd update in case anyone else was looking for it...
My cheap Autonostics cable is quite capable of data logging and reading the diagnostic codes on my '08 Legacy GT. This is a standard OBD-II USB cable. (I purchased it off of their eBay store for cheaper than it's listed on thier webiste http://www.autonostics.com/product.php?productid=2&cat=2&page=1)
Since I'm not going to be out of warranty for a while, I won't be looking to flash, so I couldn't say if that will work. Seeing as how the Cobb Accessport hasn't been released yet, I'd say that flashing will likely require different hardware.

So if I were to get the cable that you linked, I would not be able to use enginuity or other open source tuning?

Only for logging, the ebay cord will not allow you do tune.
