Howdy there...

Does anyone know if the speaker grills (front and/or back) in an '07 OBW can come off independent of the door panels? The grills in my Saturn come off but I don't want to try to pry the outback ones out if they don't come off. http://www.subaruoutback.org/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif

You need to take off the whole panel, but its not hard.

Thanks for the reply!
What the trick to getting the door handles off? :P

To get the door handles off, look at the small gap at the top. Insert a non-marring tool between the gap and gently pry the handle downward. This will remove the front half of the handle and you'll have access to the screw(s) that secure the door.

If you're willing to put in the time, I believe the speaker grill portion can be separated from the rest of the door panel at least from what I remember of the front doors.

are you talking about the little gap in the top middle of the (opening) handle-latch rectangle area? Like if you're looking at the handle it's part of the black plastic that is indented back from the actual handle? It kinda looks like it was made to put something into it and pry away? Sorry, it's hard to describe this area. I guess a pic would help. If this is what you're talking about I tried and it didn't want to give so I stopped.

Ok, pics.

First pic, green arrow shows the tab you want to clear when you pull the front of the handle off. Just insert something smooth and flat to very gently pry the gap wider.

Gently pull the top of the front of the handle outward. There are clips on the back as pictured below (circled in red).

Then once you have it off, you have access to the screws (green arrows).

Well, sorry the pics are down. I got home today and found that my router took a dump today. Bummer. So I'll get a new router after work tomorrow and have them back up.

Any update on the router/pics? :spin:

Hey!

Yeah, I didn't get it all figured out. The new router is working, and this thread reminded me I needed to figure out why it wasn't hosting. Apparently I reset my IP when I was trouble shooting. The DNS should register soon and hopefully things will be back up shortly. :)

Things have been pretty hectic the last two weeks. :-|
