'91 Legacy hydraulic valve lash adjuster help

Ok, so I need to pull the hydraulic valve lash adjusters out of the these heads('91 JDM ej20 turbo engine), but the stupid things won't come out! Near as I can tell, they should just pull straight out. Anyone have any ideas on this? They need to be oil soaked, so they will work when I finish putting things back together again.

My best suggeston is to go to www.NASIOC.com and search their boards and ask if need-be. There is just so much more information on that board.

Yes, well, a search revealed nothing, and they aren't always helpful when you aren't talking about a WRX over there in the technical section. I was hoping to possibly get some international help, as I don't think the USDM vehicles had the DOHC hydraulic adjusters.
