Hello All,
I posted this in the Stereo section, but I since this section gets more exposure I wanted to see what your guys opinion is on this...

Since I am not to familiar on how Subaru option out their cars, but I was wondering do you guys think there will be a XM or Sirius Option for the car?
Or do you guys think we will have to go aftermarket for the XM/Sirius setup? From the pictures that I have seen of the stock Radio System I don't see a "Sat" button.

If we go aftermarket and keep our stock Radio system, Does anyone know of a good place to put the control Unit that switches the stations?

I can honestly tell you I can't forsee them putting either satelite radio technology in their stereos in the near future. It's sort of like OnStar, a lot of people don't want it, but they get it with some of the upper Outbacks.

On the Edmunds.com chat which comprises of a very diverse demographic group other than many like Subaru's in one way, shape, or form, it's was a unanimous vote that nobody wanted OnStar, including people with Outbacks and Foresters w/ Premium packs. People just want to have the option to have these things without being railroaded into them.

I can't forsee this option because I don't think there is enough of a demand for it.

Feel free to drop SoA a comment what you think about this on their website. :)

I'll probably do satellite radio eventually, but I don't think I'd want to pay for it right away with any car. Yeah I think Subaru is smart not to offer it.

Thanks for the replies. I underdstand SOA decision not to offer Satelite Radio as it keeps cost down, plus if the consensus is that a lot of people would not choose it then why try to force it to the public.

I guess I will be going the aftermarket way for Satelite Radio :)

Wooooow, now this is an old thread.

People have installed it and it doesn't seem too intrusive. Unless you're hauling bubbas who take up a lot of room, you should be ok.

For what it's worth, Subaru is listed on XM Radio's website as an automotive partner (along with Honda, GM, and several others).

I just got XM Radio, and I don't know how I lived without it until now. As satellite radio picks up momentum, Subaru won't have a choice but to offer it at least on their high end models.

Maybe the 2007 models will have it as an option ... I smell a retrofit project
