I am installing sound deadening material in my car (RaaMAudio's RaaMMat, if you're interested), and I have two quick questions:

1.) How hard is it to rip up the carpet? I want to get some of this stuff on the floor (if putting it on the doors isn't sufficient) and I didn't know if it is glued down, or just held down by trim pieces, or whatever.

2.) How about taking out the seats? This is my first car with airbags in the seats, and I wanted to know if there are any special instructions for taking them out (aside from disconnecting the battery, I'm assuming). This is also my first experience with power seats. Any problems with getting to the bolts with all of the junk that is under the seats?

Thanks, guys.

the floor has jute insulation and asphalt mat glued down. I stuck to the doors and rear cargo area in my car.

Woah, I didn't realize that the floor was damped. I'll rip apart my doors, insulate them and see how much it improves.

If memory serves, you used V-Comp right?

Any suggestions regarding the front firewall? I had heard (on the forums, if I'm not mistaken) that there was a rubber-steel sandwich there and it provided good noise insulation. Thoughts?

I noticed a significant reduction in road noise by installing b-quiet's vcomp in the doors. http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=20069
