Ive searched around, and I realize alot of the information is for the LGT with the 6 disc changer, and the auto climate control. Im looking for a way to connect my Ipod to a single CD in the 2.5i. I had initially thought about the jezzy board, but I havent found a good hard how to on how to do this.

So, does anyone have any suggestions for doing this? Short of changing the HU obviously, since its not my car:icon_wink

Jazzy MT is t3h only viable solution. See the sticky thread at the top of this forum section. Read thru it and you will see that it is applicable to the single CD 06 units as well.

Yeah, I read through it, but I didnt see many people doing the 2.5i, and its easier to damage isnt it?

i thought Jazzy's only worked w/ the 6 disc changer?
you could go the ultra hard core way and colder a connection to the circuit board... :icon_mrgr

..and the Jazzy faq says something about not working on manual climate controls with degrees C readout...

With a 2006 2.5i, you can actually get a replacement faceplate from Metra. This will allow you to install a single DIN headunit in your dash. Then you can choose from any number of aftermarket head units that support iPod control and direct input for much better sound quality.

You also CAN use the Jazzy board method and maintain a completely stock outer appearance and a factory finish on the radio. There isn't as much info in that thread, but several people have done it without complication.

Good luck!

In an ideal world, I could convince my fiancee to do the Metra kit, but alas, she wants the stock radio

I live in the US, so the C readout wouldnt be a problem. I guess I should probably fill that info out, huh?

LIsten...there's nothing really tricky about the install and Jazzy provides great pix and instructions. One just needs to be gentle prying out the face plate cover (plastic) and to be smart when routing the cable. I personally think I stumbled across a better solution than the Jazzy example...Otherwise...just keep track of the many types of screwes; do not bend the ribbon cable, insert it the proper way and oh yeah...to make life easy for yourself...remove the hazard lights switch from the radio assembly right then and there, while it is still all connected by cables (for the life of me I could not unplug the harness) so I just unscrewed it.

I haven't seen it mentioned here, but the JL Cleansweep will allow you to keep the stock head unit while giving you lots of options down the road (iPod, Satalite, etc . . . )

The cleansweep is nice, but for the price, Id rather swap the headunit...

F1anatic .. and anyone else . . not sure if it's different on LHD to my RHD, but the hazard light plug was a real biatch the first time. The next time I knew what to do, and it was heaps easier.

If you get a narrow flat head screwdriver and aim it upwards at the bottom of the plug, as near to the end of the white plastic portion as possible, you release the catch. Gently pull the harness away as your pushing with the screwdriver.

As I say, I struggled at first, but I hope this helps someone else in the same situation.
