Damn, that a clean setup. I thought you said that you found some carpet that matches?

You should post some pics of the hot bazooka tube sub in that Trailblazer. ;)

I only Found Black carpet for the Sub Box...I'm actually thinking of wrapping it in Vinyl, or leather...but that will be later down the raod

Where did you put the CS knob?

Magic
01-01-2007, 03:00 PM
still, not sure....still looking at a custom location

Boulderguy

Pretty, great work.

Did you put anything under that Styrofoam rack for reinforcement?

Magic
01-01-2007, 04:40 PM
Not on the Bottom...On the top is a 1/2" mdf to level out the surface plus give reinforcement. I will be adding some other braces later to make the whole piece more rigid. That will probably be 1/8" sheet of metal. I may also put some hinges on it to make it more accesible to the spare

Magic
01-01-2007, 06:24 PM
I also managed to get the cleansweep knob, led , and bass control knob mounted in a very stealth location..... This is temporary plate holding the knobs untill I can get a better piece of ABS plastic to mount them and clean it up a little.....

PGT
01-01-2007, 06:25 PM
that's gonna be hard to use

Magic
01-01-2007, 06:34 PM
Not really, I planned it out.....I have no problem using them...It stays open while i drive but closes to avoid detection when parked...just like my cubby pod

I dont have those huge wife beater hands:D

wukindada
01-01-2007, 07:08 PM
So you say you have small hands????

What did you use to convert line level from the head unit to RCA level for the amps?

NSFW
01-02-2007, 09:55 PM
Did you have any trouble with the mounting depth for either set of 6.5"s?
Did you use the IAPerformance mounting rings, or something else? How thick?

Thanks!

Magic

Cheese: If you look in the pictures you'll notice I have a cleansweep, a full list is available on my vBgarage. Click link in my sig.

NSFW: On the rears, I had to trim a little, but they sit flush, no spacer. On the front I used some spacers I had from my last car, trimmed them just a little to fit. the are 0.75" spacers. I also added Dynamat to each door, and the XTC foam baffles to protect against the elements. I was originally planning on getting the spacers From IAP, but realized that mine would work with a little trimming.

I have a very similiar setup that I am going to be installing with Dan's help of course.....(its what used to be in Patagonian's wagon)

the Quart crossovers are too large....they won't fit back there with the two amps (the 100x4 amp is larger than what Magic installed). Also, it takes a fair amount of time to route wires to look neat like that.

I am just kidding actually. I don't really care what the setup looks like. I only care about what it sounds like.

Good....I was wanting to do more, but never had the time to do what I wanted. I just got fed up, and started working on it over my holiday vacation, just to get the stuff in there...Its been in my closet for almost a year. If I ever get the time I'll go nuts and show off some of fiberglass skills.... See pic below:icon_mrgr

P.S. not my car ( I hated that color) but you never say anything negative about a clients car:icon_neut

Looks nice and clean. I have almost the same set-up. I know exactly how you feel. I was an installer for 5 years and never put any effort into my own ride.

One of the best installers I know drove around with one door panel and one passenger speaker for 4 years!!

Nice rims by the way. Where did you buy those? I don't see them on tirerack??

Magic
01-07-2007, 05:08 PM
I got my rims thru, another board member who owns a shop. You will only find these on Tirerack if you search under STi. But even then you will still not find the 8.5" wide. The guy I got them from had ordered them direct

I wish I could find an amp with really good sound quality that would fit under the driver seat. I would hate to give up the storage under the trunk.

Magic
01-08-2007, 07:30 PM
There are some that will fit. If you can find them look for the 4 channel and 2 channel Soundstream Anginas. I had this in my wifes old vehicle. sounded great and took up no space, had both mounrd under the passenger seat. They could both fit under the drivers seat in our cars. Its just they are difficult to find

You better load valet mode as base map or I will just stop at the farthest end of the track and reset your battery before you could even catch up to me. ;)
