View Full Version : Removing inside rear brake light?
How do I remove the rear brake light that's inside the rear window? I'd like to take it out, since I have the spoiler, and don't like the way it looks behind the spoiler. And it'll be better when I tint the windows as well.
Pictures would be great too :)
Thanks.

The housing pops out and there's a disconnect plug on the wiring harness. Very easy, no tools or pictures needed.
should be in your car manual
should be in your car manual
Car manual states:
High Mount stop light (Sedan):
It may be difficult to replace the bulbs. Have your SUBARU dealer replace the bulbs if necessary.
hahaha, is that how SOA makes more money?
did they cut costs?
ok, I cannot figure this out of the life of me. I pull on the housing, and then entire rear deck just comes up. There's a small clip inside the trunk, and even if I undo that, I can't remove the light. Do I need to take out all the trim to get to the light?

Push the light housing towards the window. It will come unclipped.
The service dept. demonstrated this for me.

I wish I would have seen this earlier. I had a hell of a time figuring it out too.
Glad you got it sorted out.
