After 11 months of ownership I've worn through the OEM all weather floormats in a few places, enough to let water get in under the floormats. Not much, but definately time for replacement.

Who sells a thicker/better quality rubber floormat that fits nicely? I only need the drivers side, so just a front set will do. Thanks.

Most third party brands fit numerous applications, they will be a compromise in your footwell. NOTHING will fit like the OEM mat (look at the effin shape of it!). Just by another set. Floomats do not last forever.

Weathertech's are great. It has a spot for the existing anchor. No complaints at all. They don't slide or bunch up.

I had the OEM's in my 04 WRX. If I had to compare the fit, the weathertechs are much nicer.

There's a few posts on here about them. Do a couple searches and you'll be able to find a few pictures.

Try husky mats. I haven't seen any for the legacy yet but that is probably due to lack of looking. http://www.huskyliners.com/home.cfm

When you look on their site it says that they make them for the Legacy, not sure what they look like, I had some for my SUV and they fit like a glove really protected the carpet.

I have the weathertech floorliner in my Odyssey. The liners really are conformal to the shape of the car and does a great job. The only problem I have is that on the Odyssey, the hood release is now covered by the sidewall of the liner since the liner comes up the side for protection.

A lot more money than OEM.

I believe this is an actual picture of the Subaru Legacy FloorLiner on their web page.

The Canon mats I got from weathertech were made in England (for my wife's Acure TL)

These look better than the weathertechs (I think it's a generic pic):

http://performance.thepartsbin.com/basket.php?makeid=31&modelid=502&year=2006&partid=399&brandid=2679

I'm more worried about maybe a half cup of liquid sloshing around, so tall sides on all corners is important to me.

Anyone have the Husky liners?

I have Husky mats in front nad Husky liner in the back.

The driver one fit is not great, but I like the soft rubber and coverage. The liner is stiff and plasticky but good for rear passangers (kids), because it covers the hump.

I also bought and returned weathertechs and they coverage sucks, lots of carpeting exposed on the sides.

The deep rubbery floormats sold by BJ's and Costco wholesale clubs "KRACO" brand are easy to trim with kraft scissors and hold quite a bit of melting snow & mud.

They also come in several colors, Black, Navy Blue, Tan and Clear.

I've had different sets in all of my cars over the past 8 years and these are well worth the $29.00 for a set of 2 fronts and 2 rears.

i have the weather tech floorliners and i think that they work pretty good. my only gripe is that they should have some nubs or spikes or something like the factoy floormats so that they grip the floor better. it's not that move all over, but they moved a little when you first get in and you have all your weight on the one foot getting in. i just put the hook side of some velcro on the bottom, and it worked better. also the rear liners fit pertfectly to the floor, and match the fronts, but if you have the factory sub they kind of overlap it a little. i have'nt noticed any problems with them yet and they keep my foolrs clean.i dont think that you would ever wear these out because they are made of a rubbery textured molded plastic. anyway hope this helps!

+1 for weathertechs. nice "cup" like feature to trap liquids on the mat, plus they look cool. However, i believe they are $90+

the only question i have is, HOW DO YOU WEAR OUT THE MATS IN 11 MOS.?!?!

I wore thru the tops of the ridges in several places; not enough to notice but enough to let water thru, and I noticed the carpet was wet, leading me to find the worn thru mats. I have 25,000 on her now AND it's a stick. :icon_mrgr

Also, when getting in the car from riding the ski with my dripping wet wetsuit booties sand & small shells always seem to stick to the bottom of my feet, no matter how much I bang them together, accelerating the wear on the floormats.

You may want to hold yours up to the light, you may be surprised what you find!

Yes, I live in Florida.:icon_bigg The LGT pulls a trailer well in deep sand. (5MT too!):icon_cool

Has anyone found a good fitting mat for the trunk space of a Legacy GT sedan? I have a 2007 and did buy the OEM all weather mats and think they're great so far. I ski and do other things that I'd like to have water protection for the trunk, too.

I have the Husky's and overall I think they work fine. I trimmed the hole for the trunk release and cut out a hole for the cluch (when you push the cluch it moved the mat forward). All the mud I get in the car, none of it ever gets on the carpets.

Do you mean you cut a hole for the clutch arm, or clutch pedal itself?

Do you have any pics of yours installed (drivers side)?

The way the pedal hits the floor, I actually had to cut out a square the size of the pedal.
Will take a pic tomorrow morning and post it.

Please do show us. I have the front husky liners now... (christmas present) and I have noticed that the clutch does mess with the placement. I have yet to cut the hole for the trunk and fuel door, and I need to vacuum the car yet again... but over all, they are nice.

I really don't like the looks of the Huskys, so whop has the best prices on the Weathertechs?

This is the liner! It SUCKS! It's stiff and plasticky.

I have Husky mats - different animal - better than Weathertech. Compared side to side.

I had a set of Husky mats (special ordered) for the '02 Outback...fit was so compromised I took them back and got another set of OEM mats. Maybe they have changed. Also cost more than OEM.

I really recommend you the Husky mats for front. The driver one is not perfect fit, but the rubber is soft, pliable, and looks great... groves are deep unlike weathertech.

I could take pics tomorrow if you really want...

Forrester mat works well in the trunk, not perfect but pretty close.

I threw out the fronts and bought a set of weathertech's. The OEM rears are fine because no one ever sits in the back of my car, but I still put them back there for my shovel and ice scraper:lol:

Exactly. I bought a 25 dollar universal set 3 years ago, cut them to shape with some gardening scissors and thought they were just fine.

You don't have to spend a ton on rubber floor mats.

Of course I just finally picked up a set of used OEM Legacy rubber mats from another member here because I wanted to be cool.

They're around 110 after shipping though... abit more than double the OEMs.... im undecided.....errr

I bought a set of weather techs for my 2000 Impreza when I bought it new in '99. They're now in my Chevy Pickup and other than a a little wear by the gas pedal they're still like new and I'm not easy on my vehicles.

Wow you guys go through floor mats alot quicker that I do. I had the original OEM carpeted ones up until 30k (taupe int). I got another set at that time. The drivers side carpet was worn down where my one foot sits but certainly no holes. I never cared for the OEM black all weather rubber mats that were offered.

I got the black OM ones. They seem very thick. I can't believe people go through them that fast, but I have only had them a few weeks and less than 1,000 miles and no New England salt and sand weather yet. The taupe LL Bean one for the rear seems good as well.

Exactly:p They appear much thicker than they actually are, and depending on your driving habbits, they can and do wear through quickly.

I bought a front set for my LGT last winter. Thye work much better than the OEM winters... don't leak around the carpet hook, higher sidewalls, more confortable on my feet, ect.

I plan on buying another set for the wife's LGT as well.
