99 sunroof

I have a 99 legacy with a sunroof problem. The sunroof goes back fine but will not come forward. Anyone know how this sytem works and what I should look for to find the problem. It also will not lift up. Thanks for the help

Has the track been cleaned and lubricaed recently? I know that has been a way of making them slow down or lack in operation at times.

hey man i have a 98 with the same problem. you just have to force it back with your hand right? im not sure if you can do anything. ive looked at it and i even broke down and took it to the dealership. them and some other people said that the only way to fix it is to buy a whole new one and just replace it. they said that they dont sell individual parts . i think what has happened is that it may need lubricating or something with the track but i was told i have to pay some 1200 to fix it so.... i figure as long as i can open it, its all good. hope someone else has some better advice bc i could use it too
