07 Forester XT rims

i have 06 spec-b and im looking for winter wheels/tires..

my bro.-in-law just got new rims on his 07 forester xt that now comes with 17 rims..

i dunno the offsets but his is 17x7, 215/55/ZR17 (size seems fine since i have same widths, and 45 profile on 18" rims)

im wondering if they will fit my 06 spec-b..

i had terrible experience with my stock tires (which are summer tires) in snow when i went to mammoth for snowboarding 2 weeks ago..

it handled WAY WORSE than my 04 FWD TL with all season tires.. i was SHOCKED.. i didnt know tires could make that much of a difference b/c i thought AWD would somewhat help even tho i had summer tires..

AWD + summer tires + snow = USELESS

As you've figured out, Summer tires are useless in Snow.

That's why snow tires were created.

Get yourself a nice set of Blizzaks for winter and summer tires for Summer and you'll be golden.

Summer tires on snow = death.

All season tires = "Meh" on everything, but at least you won't die in snow.
