GB RBS rear deck lid spoiler Version II

[Rommel]

This deck lid spoiler will be similar to the current GB that is going on organized by Mines. I got a hold of the spoiler and a few guys requested me if I can make the fitment a lot better. I'm not going to compete with the current GB. As most of you guys/gals know quality and customer satisfaction is my main concern. If you feel that my price is too high go with the current GB. Price for the GB will be $300 shipped painted. Group buy will end July 31 after GB price will be $320 + shipping.

Since there is no chance we are going to get it delivered before the 20th of this month so I can install it before we go to the meet in Germany I now could care less when it gets done.
After leave in Germany I come back to the sandbox for a few months so I am in no rush to get it now.

Dammit, I wish DHL hadn't chip the paint job on my spoiler. Rommel is nice enough to send another one to me but now I gotta wait for it... :(

My spoiler arrived today and while it wasn't chipped, I can honestly say I wasn't completely satisfied with the quality. Granted, if I would have seen it in the daylight before I installed it, I would have never peeled off the tape backing and asked for a replacement/money back. My bad.......

The first thing I noticed was the paint quality was not up to par for a $300 part. The pictures don't capture it (trust me I tried) but the first pic shows actual flaws/bubbles in the paint (they're marked with black circles). There are similar bubbles on the underside of the spoiler in the paint also.

The second thing that I tried to capture in the images was the wavy top which I wasn't even able to see until I got in the sunlight. When the light catches it, it doesn't look good at all. This is actually the mold itself and probably wouldn't be visible with a matte finish, but since it is painted it is very obvious.

I guess next time i'll be a little smarter and check the part out in the sunlight instead of installing it in my garage since it was so damned hot out. While I love the look of it from the rear (the last picture) I would not buy this spoiler again. I am not a ranter and am only putting this out there for you all to be aware of. Don't make the same mistake I made, check it out in the sunlight first!

Like I mentioned, it's my fault since I should have checked the part out thoroughly before I installed it. I just got excited and wanted to get it on there ASAP.

I could easily get it off using fishing line, I'm sure. But the tape residue would still be on the part, and no vendor has to take back a "used part" nor would I expect that. As I mentioned earlier, I should have been smarter about it.

me too, quickly took down the finely wrapped wrappings and installed ASAP later found out the problems..

if you need to clean out the residue on your car, pick up "Goo Gone" from your local Autozone...

but i trust Rommel... since i got everything he ever sold on this forum lol...

I'm sorry about that, I didn't notice the flaw in the finish when I started to ship these spoilers out. Just like you I was also excited to give the Legacy community something new. If you have bought from me before you would know that I will replace or refund your money. As what I have stated before, I'm more of a car enthusiast than a businessman. Let me know what you want, if you want a refund or a replacement.

It was painted las week but the paint was mixed in the morning by the time it was sprayed the silver flakes settled so it didn't came out nice.
