don't listen to him
Looks gangsta, I love it. Just don't drive up to NYC with some of the roads we have...your suspension would get pwned.
Damn the spec.B wheels just fit the legacy look-wise. Gotta think about investing in a set..

How'd you get ahold of the spec-B rims? Can you just walk into a dealership and buy em?
Looks excellent BTW!!

I actually had my GT wheels stolen in downtown seattle. The insurance company ended up buiying the 18's and brand new tires at no cost to me...... gotta love insurance!!

Do you have coilovers or just springs? which type?
adam_gt
06-11-2006, 06:29 PM
The Springs are Tein and I love them!! I have had H & R and Eibach on other Subaru's and I find that Tein is definately top notch. I suggest the camber kit and struts as well.....

Holy Crap! Stolen off the car while it was parked, so they left it on cinderblocks or something? What happened?
adam_gt
06-11-2006, 06:52 PM
The car was left on cinderblocks on the top floor of my girl's apartment building. You can imagine my shock coming out the next morning and seeing that....had to put spares and roll it down the garage. Worked out well in the end, though :)

Yikes ... I am not sure if getting the car to the top floor was a "natural move".
.
It reminds of Hi-School in the late 40's when students a few years ahead of me carried a prof's small car into the gym !
I'm not "hip" whjen it come to rims, but:
-- one of my neighbour's has an old (say 15-20 years) Nissan 300 ZX. The rims are held together by 3 large, thick looking stars!
-- another has a VW GTI on 18" somethings that set the car looks low like yours ( I see in my memory about 1 inch of rubber at ground level).
PS: I thought that the 205/50R 17's on the 2.5i were pretty "hard" re comfort. I do see now that such tires totally improve the feel on smooth surfaces. I have to woory a bit about gravel hitting the rims along a few miles of gravel that I drive on summer weekends.

your next mod should be wheel locks...they're cheap so even get two sets to have 2 different locks on each wheel...if that doesn't keep 'em safe nothing will.

Well well well... another Seattle GT!!! Love the look of the car, you're gonna make team23 jealous! So, I gotta ask: how much (in general) are tein S techs? I'm 100% stock (flame away team23!) but I like the look of the slight drop. What's the ride difference in your opinion? That's what I'm most worried about is quality/comfort of the ride as I drive about 25k a year. See you at the next meet? ;) I gotta see this ride in person! Looks great buddy!!! :D

The grille is JDM....you can just yahoo JDM grille and Legacy. It comes pre-painted and matched really well. Even for a three stage paint!
The springs were $340 I believe and I had a suspension shop that I know in Redmond install the entire suspension kit. I have always had lowered cars so the bumps don't bother me. I still think it feels great and haven't gotten any complaints from passengers. I have seen other legacy drops and they seem too high to me....to each their own.
As far as being too dropped.....I didn't know there was such a thing:). J/K. The car handles amazing and the drop looks/feels perfect to me....thanks for the feedback.

Yeah a little too much for the springs, you can get H or S techs online for $200-220 shipped!

One more thing, how much did you pay for that grill? I've seen them for $320 from RBS.

The springs included the installation and an alignment....so I thought $340 was a pretty pimp deal. As far as the grille it was $295. I can try to determine where I got it....it has been a little while. I would highly recommend both!

I know them. Last week they installed Perrin's PSRS (LCAB) for me, but at a regular price [sigh...]

adam, Dave at SRP can clear the headlights for you
I think he charges like 40 or 60
I did it by myself...it wasn't that bad
you also need to black out the headlights

Suspension is Tein Srpings, a camber kit and shocks. It handles well enough for me to own any punk that wants to race around a corner....I recommend it!
