For Sale: One Mangled Enzo
Seeing a Ferrari Enzo for sale is as rare a sight as there is in motoring - only 349 were made, after all.
So when one appeared on auction website eBay it caught our eye, and when we realised what state it was in - slightly 'restyled' at the front - we were even more intrigued. The starting bid was £130,000, and the seller said the car had a mere 353 miles on the clock and was waiting for a new owner in Florida. But then the plot thickened - the Enzo mysteriously disappeared off the Internet before the end of the auction. It's not clear whether it was sold privately, or Ferrari was unhappy and stepped in to get the sale stopped.

If he was at a track and pushing it to the limits, I'd say he has every right, driving it how it was mean't to be driven.
I can't remember, but was it the ENZO that required drivers to prove that the car would be raced? There was at least one car or car mfg that required owners to race it, not just buy it for prestige and kill the spirit of the car.

SUBE, I think you mean "driven" and not necessarily "raced". These companies want the cars to actually be driven on the street and track, but it's such an aweful sight to see one destroyed like that. Even worse is to see a mangled McLaren F1 since there were 65 built and 5 were LMs. I can't imagine a wrecked F1 LM. :(

All the good parts are still intact, it just needs some front end work.

I thought I remembered seeing the word raced Preston, but there's always grey area until seeing a press release. But hey, AutoX is usually a bit safer than tracking and that's still racing, some courses are pretty wide open and fast too. :)
I hear you on the McLaren deal. If people think Ferrari's are exclusive, think again! McLaren is about as much as you can shell out, and they actually use them for professional racing, I doubt that the car is all too much changed for what it's used for as well. I haven't heard of Enzo's in a professional circuit yet, though I'd like to see one all spruced up and on the course for that. :)
That looks like Ferrari luggage to me.

I could probably look it up, but what about the carbon fiber tub on the Enzo? If its one piece how do you fix it, and further, how would you ensure structural integrity if you could get it back together? I know the Pagani uses some metal subframes to allow for accident repair, but I can't remember what Ferrari did.
