here is what i noticed with my legacy in the last 2 weeks when it rained like crazy in cleveland. I would set the HVAC on the foot/defog position when driving, but as soon as my car stopped running the windshield will get so foggy and wet above the dash vents next to the windhield. I think the drainage hose from the evaporator might be clogged since i did never notice that water under the car after parking it.

Interesting that you wouldn't find evaporator drippings under the car after you shut it off. Since it was raining, I assume you parked it somewhere dry where you could see if there was runoff? :icon_bigg
Just out of curiosity, do you have the vent set for re-circ or fresh air? My LGT seems to like to set it for re-circ anytime the AC is on, but fresh air works better for defrosting.

my car disables the recirc anytime it's set on defog or defog floor and also starts the ac. i have a manual hvac system. i never seen the dripping under the car even last year when i used to use the ac in the fall.

My drainage is A-OK, but definitely, I see the same kind of fogging that you cite, bro.

This has been the case on just about all the vehicles I've owned in the past - I haven't seen anything in my LGT to think that it's anything but "normal."

However, your lack of drainage does concern me a bit..... :(

well i used japanese cars for most of my life and i know that if it's japanese the windows will fog like no other. it's just that the fogging sometimes gets to the point of having drops of water on the windshield. i will check it out today since i have no school and no work.

Your Ac system should come on for defogging (evaporator acts as a dehumidifier), next humid day run your defogger turn indoor temp way down(65) use outside air, run fan on max. You should see water dripping under the car in a few minutes. If not the tube is cloged.
Jap & german cars fog more then american cars mostly because they have a more air tight enviornment. condensation builds because the interior does not vent very well, by design. you can actually feel the preasure on your ears if windows are closed and exterior vent is off & you slam the door from inside.

Don't use recirculate. It keeps the moisture trapped in the car.
