I thought about laminating a layer of carbon fiber/ blue kevlar over all the parts. But I won't attempt it until I can get a replacement set cheap.

Here's a pic of one of the door pieces I did. It's a little crappy but you get the idea.

That looks kind of nice, but I wonder how it will stand up to sharp objects.

I have a sheet of that stuff laying around, I may try it.

Be careful. Mess up and that could bring down the value of your car a lot.

well vinyl is not like painting. You peel it off and it is like it never was there.

Good point. But I can bet you no one here wants to ruin such a beautiful car.

You'd have to be really careless to ruin your car putting this stuff on. Cut it close to size and take a small utility and trim the rest, 20 minutes tops. The 2 strips running down the sides of the radio were just to hard to do with the compound curves so I went and spent $100 on the silver trim pieces and swapped them out, looks MUCH better now. As for the durability, it's exterior grade I think so it should hold up very well. I know the piece on the shifter is wearing very well.

On the other hand you can also get vinyl the same color as the silver center console trim and do it that way so it all matches. I have silver vinyl, so I may just do that.

When I drove a loaner 2.5i, they have the silver trim with the taupe interior. It just looks too plain. Needed some contrast.

I've never been a fan of the faux carbon fiber finish. If you are going to do it, might as well do it right.
