So how hard would it be to get a Liberty badge from down under sent up to the states? It's been a year since I got my car and I'm thinking about changing the badging a bit. I'm also a patriotic kind of guy and Liberty appeals to me. :) Any thoughts on how to get one up here?

Maybe you can try contacting Subaru dealers in Australia? Try www.melbourne.subaru.com.au (http://www.melbourne.subaru.com.au).
That's the main Subaru dealership in Melbourne. Maybe they can give you some info on how you can source one?

Subaru Australia will not sell to ppl or Co's outside of Australia. Send an email to James at DarkWatch he may be able to source for u.

I don't think the Liberty badge should be that hard to get hold of? Just need to find a friendly local who'll go buy one for you? I suspect the STi stuff is harder here though...
Would have thought you could just order one through spare parts in Melbourne? Don't know if they make badges harder than other parts though - Adam is your comment directed at STi bits or all badges?

Anything purchased from any Subaru Dealership in Australia. They will not allow purchases from Overseas buyers at all unless they are purchased over the counter, this includes all genuine STi and all Subaru Parts. This is apparently a rule that Inchape has signed with Subaru Japan/STi Japan.

There is this really cool legacy board here (http://www.legacygt.com) that has all kinds of pictures of Legacys here and abroad. There are a few Libertys there.
