Patagonian, Before someone gets mistaken, I can get any Subaru parts direct from Japan.

A few Goods reasons is: My sister and brother in law is in Japan now teaching English and i have a Japanese Guy working for me now to buy and order parts from Japan direct rather going thur middle man.

Check out my Parts listing for the Liberty and Subaru.

I think Adam was refering that if you want to buy the STI Tuned GT emblem from Australia Subaru, then you have to prove that you have a STI GT.

As for Japan, i dont think they need to see if you own a STI GT.

Sorry Glen my apologies.....

Ah nice pickup on the gearknob, I like the Cylinder looking one but think it would be tooo small in the hand. The STi locknuts are a great idea and good look but agree, very expensive..... and fitting ? I would hate to know what they would charge for fitting them LOL.

"Come on Darren, u know my car has more then enough mods to match with the STi :icon_mrgr "

I got my STi badge from the local dealer, C$20 :icon_bigg

He sarcastically told me that it would add 5 hp, to which I replied "good, then I'll have 325".

The look on his face was priceless

01-23-2006, 08:06 PM
15kW James? The badge is only worth 10kW (and they have to fit the ECU and 'Zorst)....

Someone's sold you the wrong badge if you got 15kW out of it heh heh

DarkWatch

yeah, i think you are right darren, JDM ones cost 5kw more, its always the case, dont you think so? lol

Think of a number, add a heap for good measure and you'll come up with 5 big ones to get an STI upgrade. BS!
I'd rather they just say it's never going to be available.

That's what Docklands STI want for the retro fit of the dual exhaust and ECU James. Maybe you came along just after he told us that.:(

That's $5000 Australian which is about $3750 USA.
Rob.

DarkWatch

GEEZ..

I can offer you guys with STI TWIN QUAD Exhaust or the STI Genome Exhaust upgrade brand new and with the TUNED ECU piggy or Mines TUNED ECU FROM JAPAN and throw in a Blitz or Apexi Aif filter for less then $4500.00.

I Will even Prove before dyno and after dyno min 15kws at the wheels and will be suitable to use Octance 98 AUstralian Fuel.

Hows that?

PS: Btw, i have call up a few Japanese Aftermarket Performance Dealers in Japan. What i was told that the STI ECU from the legacy and 2.0GT is the SAME ECU... CAN YOU BELIEVE it??

Anyone (STI GT owner) Wants to prove this with me??

it is very easy, i just have to remove a small section and we can access the ecu on the passager foot rest and we can compare the Part number which is listed on there.

Edit: The ECU is behind the carpet on the passager foot rest, below the glove compartment. it will take me less then 10 mins to check out if the STI GT ECU is same as the GT ECU or different.. Part numbers will take all.

I even have a scanner Monitor to plug into the GT to check if both are the same..

Any STI GT owners dare to prove this project with me??

Why
01-25-2006, 06:53 AM
I'll have $100 on the fact there the same ECU it will only be the programmed parameters the differ.

So, no not about to let you download it James :D

So are you guys saying that if I get a Suby dealer to reprogram my own factory ecu, then I should get the new 190kw out of it and still keep the engine and all safe? Sorry for the newb questions as I'm no mechanic.

Would I need to necessarily change the rear mufflers then? I prefer the bigger OEM GT exhaust.
Rob.

SPOT ON!

dmcgowan
01-25-2006, 09:29 PM
Rob,

The ECU can't be any different physically - the tune is only going to be a new set of parameters in a flash ROM chip. It may have an STi sticker on maybe but really just has different maps in it's memory? They might do it using a piggy back but that makes zero sense for an OEM tune...

Went out for lunch with my gf and the rain starts pouring..

we suppose to go to knox but because of the rain, we tot of going home to rest..

On the way back up, i stops at a 7-eleven serov, inside was flooding... the poor cashier guy from the 7-11 had to mop the floor while rain and water are seeping thru the ceiling...

And the Worst case is, it was leaking thru the ceiling, it leaks on the surrpplee and coffee machines and other food machine and the power of those machine were still on...

i told him "Mate, dont u think you should switch off those machine before you get a short circuit here ?? "

He was lilke " oh.. i think you are right!~!""
Shakes my head and i brought the NW magz and went off..

Down driving near my streets, it was raining like cats and dogs everywhere...

Tree branches and leaves was everywhere near my hse and i have to douch them...

What a Day!!
