I'd like to remind everyone here that we really need all avatars here to be work safe. While it was interesting for a while to have some 'festive' holiday avatars, some these past weeks are going over the line what is acceptable here. I normally would just PM a user to change their avatar, but this week alone I think the mods and myself have sent more than a dozen PMs. If a Mod or myself asks you to change your avatar, please do and pick something more fitting for a site most people like myself view at work.

Thanks, I appreciate that. Most internet traffic at work is monitored and logged and viewing such images can come back to haunt you, as any network administrator can tell you (I know, I've set up the software to do it).

There are a lot of other things to do to kill time besides doing work. Walk around the building, hide out in an office no one uses, etc. In my old job I would just go around talking to people and next thing you know, time to go home.

yeah, as it could discourage new members from checking out the site or joining. Then again, if some of the places people work have certain spy programs installed, some of the language here could get them in trouble :lol:

And while I can understand the concern over the avatars, I think that the avatars give a good indication of the personalities that make up LegacyGt.com. There's actually a growing number that are borderline. While 1 or 2 doesn't really make a difference in the size of this site, its been spreading to more and more members and I can understand why large boards don't really allow avatars. So this is by no means directed towards 1 or 2 people, just that the overall tone of many avatars is getting a bit more salacious than I'd like.

I have definately noticed an increase in borderline avatars on the site. It makes it difficult to check into the board while at work.

We have 2 choices..... either people can self moderate their avatars... or we can disable them.

I think avatars are useful to quickly ID people in posts.... so I would like to see everyone take a moment and evaluate their current avatar... and change it if is is not appropriate.

Asking someone to change a questionable one opens a can of worms...the 'line' of what's acceptable and what isn't is awfully vague. So, if it's at all questionable, please change it, so we don't have to have a zero tolerance policy (the only thing that would really be fair to everyone).
