Announcing the most exciting change yet in the Subaru Legacy range - the 3.0R and the 3.0R spec.B. The Legacy 3.0R with 5-speed sportshift automatic and Vehicle Dynamics Control combines luxury with sporty performance. The 3.0R spec.B is Legacy’s first six-speed manual - giving truly exhilarating driving. Change is good, and with the 3.0R spec.B, it has never been better!
Ok not quite true the s401 did kinda get here - minor point

Thats fantastic, unsure why they didnt have the SpecB from the start considering it has already landed in Oz last month.

Last time I went to see my dealer in Wellington, NZ, I asked how much it would cost to buy an EZ30R ENGINE.
$30,000 was what I was quoted.
OMFG.

Thanks Racerdave :D
Hey MarkC, no I havent driven it as of yet but certainly it is on my list to do as soon as one @ SoAU becomes available. This should be this week. The 3.0R Spec-B that I have actually sat in has a fantastic leather interior which is really nice. As I have said before, the pictures on the net certainly dont give this car the credit it deserves. IMHO, it has a lot more road presense than the GT but only time will tell if it has the same amount of shove that the GT has.
Stay tuned.
Adam.

My reply to another thread:
"Just tested (albeit briefly) the 3.0R-B (6-speed manual). Compared to the GT, it blew me away. I liked the GT, but I loved the Spec B - especially the sound. The GT has pretty-much lost the boxer burble and sounds like a generic 4 cylinder - the Spec B sounds like a cross betwen a BMW straight-6 and a Porsche/ Alfa GTA. I L-U-R-V-E it!!!

I neglected to add that I was pleasantly surprised by the Spec B's power - not quite the shove-in-the-back that the GT exhibits, but to my mind more linear and therefore, enjoyable. Certainly more than enough shove for me (currently in a 2003 RX ltd ed.)
