Nice!! The rim too!
How much did they set you back?
I sat in a black Lib GT with a set of front Brembo Grand Turismo brakes last night for a cruise . Night and day in term of stopping power compared to stock but the price was truly :icon_surp .

LOL Jasper so did you like Vin's car?

Nah i wish :icon_tong. It 's not Vin'c car . It belongs to a friend who imports some aftermarket performance parts. .
But Vin did have a tweak with my standard GT after a run on the dyno a few weeks back and took it home for a drive afterward . i 've mistaken a noise from the engine bay for possible pinging(silly me) and he went through the above trouble and now my engine feels different . Smoother and more free revving through the range :icon_bigg . This reminds me, got to call STI tomorrow and say a thank you.

Brakes were off an 03STi, the rears would not fit as the handbrake backing plate has a different mount setup to the Liberty. And you guys should know that STi Docklands would never tweak your ECU :icon_wink all they do is check that you car is running well.
the brakes look fantatstic...as good as they stop i bet!
nice to see a super clean wagon...very nice

May be they've resetted the ECU. Certainly feels different afterward. Vin said he had a "tweak" but i didn't ask what.
Did you have to do any mod to fit the 03 STi brembo to your LIb?
jasper
The brakes bolt straight on took about 20minutes

Cool :) Btw, for the rear brakes, you can get brackets that will make the rear brembos just bolt on.
Kinda like these from TN Guts:

Guys - can anyone share costs of this stuff? I'd be interested but not something I can see blowing $7k on at this stage...
Cheers,
Darren

Hey Darren,
Share costs how? The brake 'upgrade' (may or may not be Brembo) is something i have on my "to do" list...
Bye,
Mo
I got a complete set of STi Brakes with near new rotors and pads for $2200.00 also got the STi handbrake setup and backing plate.
Rims well how much do you want to spend. I have a spare set of MAK 18 x 7.5 that will clear the Brembos. Quality rims from Italy make me an offer.

The rims we have will fit the Brembo's easily so no drama about having to swap out rims Craig. Darren, I think Craig had to swap out rims because he had the standard GT rims. Also Darren, he did mention the Brembo's he fitted were standard issue from a MY03 STiWRX so I gather they are 2nd hand, is this right ?????
TIA

If you visit the WRX based forums. Secondhand brakes come up occasionally.
That is how I got my set of 04 STi Brembos.
I have also recently seen a set of AP 4 pistons as well.

I think the standard 3.0 RB rims are 18x7 so they may not clear the Brembos.

You are correct. They will not clear the Brembos.

Hence the STi rims are 7.5 :)
