I was driving along in Sydney and saw this rear hitch on a LGT... Anyone know if this is a standard option? We don't have it in the US and it looks very clean.

It is a standard option and available here in Oz and I suppose other J-Spec GT's. Curious why this is not avail in the US.

It's a standard hitch made by Hayman Reece under contract to Subaru I'm told.

Here's MattyC's thread from a while ago about the Aussie hitch, including the part number and his install process. His pics links no longer work and as I recall they were fantastic photos of his installation process, so that's a bummer. But, he accurately describes what comprises the Down Unda Subaru Hitch kit.

Old question, but the answer is:
Manual: $756.83 (http://subaru.com.au/explore/liberty/accessories.asp?body=Wagon&grade=3%2E0R+spec%2EB#) AUD installed
Auto: $1,066.24 AUD installed (They make you fit a transmission cooler also)

Subaru Australia - Subaru Liberty 3.0R spec.B - Accessories (http://subaru.com.au/explore/liberty/accessories.asp?body=Wagon&grade=3%2E0R+spec%2EB)

The Hayman Reese website quotes $584 for product number R2010.
They don't make clear if this includes installation.
