View Full Version : Calendar!

Stef

We've decided to make a 2005 calendar with pics of people's cars (2004/5 Legacy's), so start sending us your entries!

We will select a total of 13 entries (1 per month plus the cover), and we'd like a nice variety of car, color and backgrounds.

Requirements:
Any pic you have taken of your 2004 or 2005 Legacy - any body, any engine. You must be willing to give us permission to use the pic in the calendar and market it.

You should have the pic in JPG format, 1725 x 1350. Attach a smaller thumbnail of the pic to this thread. We can resize your image (if selected) for you.

Picture:
Any 2004/2005 Legacy. We'd like a variety of colors, body, engines and backgrounds. Any 'pose', angle, action shot, sexy shots, etc. Feel free to send multiple pics! International pics encouraged.

What you get:
All winners will get free stickers. The picture chosen for the cover will get free stickers, a free calendar, and the ability to brag that their car is a 'covergirl'.

If it's popular we'll make an Outback one.

I'm tring to get the full res pic of this from the person who took it...
http://homepage.mac.com/futureofx/.Pictures/turnaug2204.jpg

Their camera only goes to 3.2Mpix (Canon Powershot A70 (http://consumer.usa.canon.com/ir/controller?act=ModelDetailAct&fcategoryid=145&mode lid=8776).) Will that suffice possibly? I'll get the pic ASAP.

Well I know Blade, I already asked him and told him what it would be for. I don't forsee a problem, but I'll give you the full word. Otherwise I'd have to find someone with a camera better than mine which is a <1MP to participate.

You said prefer. Hard to take a pic of an action shot of myself and my baby. :D

It's not a matter of signing up, we're not taking the first 13. We'll be going over all the pics submitted and selecting the best ones once we get a good selection (ideally we'll get a 100+, but we haven't had much of a response yet  )
By all means, submit those pics, Adam. As long as you took it and have the rights to it, and it's a good quality pic, it has a good chance of getting in!

He is right. I get the same. I have a feeling you can't attach pictures in the Site Announcements. You can try the [img] feature though if you've already uploaded your picture elsewhere on the site or on another site. If it's on this site and you want to know what it's called, go to that picture in the thread, right click it and get the link and use that in [img].

More pictures (just checked out how to post more then one pic...) :)

Compare that 3.0R bumper to the one on the new S4: (IGNORE the big grille, if you can) just looking at the lower intakes on each side

2005 Audi S4:
http://bilder.autobild.de/bilder/1/56051.jpg

The shapes are very similar.

If I could majically re-mold the 3.0R bumper, I'd keep the JDM style short-overhang bumper structures, if possible. I'd make the central air intake bigger, make the vertical edges between the center and side openings a little more substantial, and cant them into the airflow instead of flat on the front, I would replicate the S4's side intake shapes, which wrap around less, and are larger vertically.
I would make the lower edge more agressive, also like the S4 bumper, and shaped to match the STi front lip spoiler. I would also mold in the fender flare surfaces on the sides, to mate with 05 Outback fender flares.

It looks very cool in my mind's eye. Better than the SpecB bumper, even.

The Spec.B bumper doesn't really appeal to me either, too many curves and such... I like the 3.0R and JDM GT bumpers better.

First off, great pictures. Beautiful car in beautiful scenery.

A couple of things I notice. German 3.0R has:

Front Bumper: Same as JDM 2.5i sedan/wagon, short overhang. (TUV regulations are pretty strict on safety, yet they still get the shorter bumpers. Doh. Come On, USDOT!)

left hand drive, unless all of these pictures are reversed. Good to know, that means the headlights are compatible with US roads. (cutoff is on the correct side, the left, for us)

Headlights: chrome, like JDM 2.5i, clear indicators, but LHD pattern, so will work in US. 2.0GT, or whichever german market car corresponds to the GT, should have the black headlights, with clear indicators, in a LHD pattern.

Wheels, same as US GT.

Rear LED fog light. LEFT SIDE, for LHD. (driver and single fog light toward center of road, not shoulder.) Opposite of JDM peices, which are RHD and Right Hand single rear foglight.

Tail lights are all red, no amber in them like the US market has.

I have been wanting a car with rear fog lights for a long time. It gets foggy in Iowa on some spring and fall mornings, and I have come up behind people unexpectedly, and have nearly been rear ended, even with my lights on, in the fog.

Since the trunk lid on the sedan has two peices on the rear, the lower peice being seperate, I wonder how hard it would be to have it modified to accept two rear fog lights, one on each side, between the license plate and the tail lights, right up against the panel seam.
Left Side from a German market wagon, right side from a JDM wagon. The same, but mirror image in shape, both clear with red LEDs.

the other way would be to import the JDM, or other market tail lights, where the top red section is the brake and tail lights, the white section has reverse and amber turn bulbs, and the lower red section is the rear fog light.

I am just dreaming, but why not?

Had an idea about the Legacy "triade" - I once made a picture of the Legacys in our family - mine (3.0R), ride of mom (gold 2.5) and that of my brother (2.2 dark blue) - three Legacy generations with one shot :D

Nice cars. one of each generation.

The inside of your car is interesting. Navigation, a different climate control, and a different stereo with cd and cassete, and steering wheel controls.

Interesting options that we do not get on our side of the pond, here in the US. Looks like ebony wood, too, rather than fakey brown plastic wood. At least that is shiney.

Interesting stuff...

Yeah it is like dark wood but I think it is plastic too.

The steering wheel controls (for stereo) are only available with the 3.0R engine and I think that it is the same with the US 3.0R Outback.

Climate control is only single type not the dual zone. At least the knobs match better with the audio. The stereo is a 6x CD changer with cassette player and NO mp3 abilities. Don't care for the cassette ...
